Cheng Survives All-In Moment

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Christian Cheng faced a tough decision after the big stack at his table moved all in from an early position.

Cheng had exactly 55,000 and was clearly pained, alternating multiple looks at his cards and his opponent. He grimaced with each passing second and took a little more than a minute before eventually calling. As the other players folded, the cards were tabled, and it was a race.

Christian Cheng: AQ
Opponent: 1010

The dealer fanned KKJ on the flop, leaving Cheng behind. The turn produced Q to give Cheng the lead, but he wasn’t out of danger as any ace or nine would give his opponent a straight. Cheng also had to dodge one of the two remaining 10s, which would give his opponent a full house.

Cheng, though, was paid off for his willingness to go deep in the tank after 8 appeared on the river to give Cheng a much-needed double up. He appeared relieved and sank in his chair, while the dealer pushed the pot his way.
