Muramalla Improves Each Street

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up in a three way pot between James Calderaro in the big blind, Venkata Muramalla in first position, and another player on the cutoff.

Action checked to Muramalla on the 965 flop where he bet 7,500 and the cutoff moved all in for 18,100 and Caldaeraro moved all in for 20,300 effective while Muramalla called.

Cutoff: A8753
Venkata Muramalla: AQ952
James Calderaro: 87654

The turn of 8 gave Muramalla the nut low, and left the other two just chopping the high with their straight, but the river 10 gave Muramalla the whole pot after making a queen-high flush paired with his nut low. The cutoff exited the tournament while Calderaro was left short.

Kavowras' Takes From Shack-Harris

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action went five ways to the flop which came 9105.

Kenneth Kavowras opened the betting from the hijack and was called by Brandon Shack-Harris in the big blind.

A J on the turn was checked by both players. When an 8 fell on the river, Shack-Harris bet out, but folded when Kavowras put a raise in.

It was a modest pot but Kavowras wanted it reported in order to let his wife know that he is wearing her t-shirt. So far, it seems to be working.

Ruben Shows Nut-Nut

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up on the river in a sizable pot between Bradley Ruben in the hijack and another player in the cutoff.

The board read 4A1076 and Ruben bet 17,600 on the river.

"Now that is just the worst card for me," said his opponent as she tossed her hand into the muck.

"Just because you're nice," replied Ruben as he turned over 9x8x7x3x2x for the nut straight and nut low and the four time WSOP bracelet winner took down the pot.

A few tablemates were discussing that the hand was being written up, and pitched the headline.
