Pupillo Busts Concha With River Suckout

Niveau 24
Luis Concha
Luis Concha

Big O

The cards were already on their backs and Luis Concha was visibly disgusted, mumbling a "that was a one outer" when he was sent to the payout desk by Nick Pupillo in cruel fashion.

The AQJ53 of Concha had turned a flush on K929 while he was up against the AAK52 for two pair by then. What followed was the A river that brought the case ace and Pupillo improved to aces full to score the final blow.

Hellmuth Eliminated by Sagle

Niveau 24
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Badacey

Phil Hellmuth raised under the gun and got three-bet by Jason Sagle in the small blind. Hellmuth then moved all in for 84,000 and Sagle called.

Sagle drew one while Hellmuth needed three.

On the second draw, Sagle again drew one, while Hellmuth laughed at his misfortune, saying he had picked up trip aces. He turned AA8 face up and discarded them.

On the final draw, Sagle still drew one and Hellmuth went into the tank for his drawing decision, showing 10752A. He decided to pat and hope for half.

Sagle showed 6432 for at least a better three-card Badugi, and then after the dealer gave him the 7 to complete his hand, Sagle held a seven-low as well to scoop the pot and end the 16-time WSOP bracelet winner's first chase for number 17.

Hellmuth circled the table, shaking his opponents hands, then made his way over to other friends still in the field before leaving the tournament area in 21st place.

Moss Melted by Mozdzen

Niveau 24

Badeucey

A short-stacked Frederic Moss was already all-in and drew one card on the final draw while Clayton Mozdzen patted. The latter showed the 7542 for a made seven-dugi while Moss was at risk with the inferior 9542. The 6 for Mozdzen changed nothing for him but Moss bricked with the 3 to finish in 20th place.

The Kost of Living Sends Sarle to the Rail

Niveau 24
Dominick Sarle
Dominick Sarle

Chip Jett was knocked down to a mere 2,000 and he then won two Stud 8 or Better hands to suddenly jump back to more than a bet.

One table over, two Omaha variants caused trouble to Nick Kost and Dominick Sarle.

Kost first took three quarters of Sarle in a Big O hand, then Sarle survived a three-way all-in via chop against Paresh Doshi and Chad Eveslage with the latter earning the second half of the pot.

PLO

Shortly after, it switched to Pot-Limit Omaha and Sarle was all-in preflop versus Kost.

Dominick Sarle: A972
Nick Kost: AK82

The board ran out 1063A3 and the kicker played to eliminate Sarle in 19th place.

Goldfarb Eliminated to Set up Three Table Redraw

Niveau 24
Robert Goldfarb
Robert Goldfarb

Omaha 8 or Better

As Dominick Sarle was being eliminated, so too was Robert Goldfarb, at the hands of Andrew Brown.

Goldfarb raised in early position and Brown flatted his big blind. On a rainbow flop of 10x5x3x, Brown bet and Goldfarb committed his final 22,000 chips.

Robert Goldfarb: KxJx3x2x
Andrew Brown: Ax8x7x2x

The board completed 7x6x and Brown's pair of sevens were enough to win the high, while he also had the nut low to scoop the pot and eliminate Goldfarb.

There will now be a redraw for the final three tables at the end of the penultimate level on Day 2.

Chip Jett Eliminated in 17th Place ($6,220)

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Chip Jett: 33 / 8Q655
John Racener: J6 / 7J84 / 8

"You keep catching good run outs," Chip Jett sighed in table chat when he was all-in against John Racener. Having come back from two single chips prior to the three table redraw, there was no escaping for Jett this time.

He ended the hand with fives and treys but his queen-eight was no good for the low portion either, as Racener scooped with jacks and sixes as well as a jack-eight.

Before departing, Jett joked "silly game" as he then headed straight to the payout desk.

Near Double for Kost; Johnson Adds Chips

Niveau 25

Stud 8 or Better

Nick Kost: XxXx / 567A
Matthew Schultz: XxXx / A6108 folded on sixth street

Nick Kost was one of the shortest stacks on the redraw and bet all the way against Matthew Schultz. He had just over one bet behind on sixth and Schultz mulled it over before folding.

At the same time, James Johnson scooped a hand of the same variant against chip leader Andrew Kelsall to put a dent into the big stack of his table neighbour.

Levi Scoops Brown for a Double

Niveau 25

Badeucey

David Levi tangled with Andrew Brown and both patted after the final draw when Levi had moved all-in in the dark for a fraction of a bet. Brown called and Levi revealed the 6 / 9754 for a nine-nine to win the pot, as Brown double-checked his cards and mucked.

The double was for 235,000 and nearly halved the stack of Brown.
