Akopov's Aggressive Approach Back Fires

Marc Rivera raised from the hijack to 50,000, finding Boris Akopov in the big blind who defended.

On a flop of 5♠3♦6♣, Akopov played out of flow and led into Rivera for 60,000. Rivera called.

The turn came the 9♣ and Akopov bet again for 125,000. This time Rivera raised all in for 380,000 and Akopov tossed his cards into the muck.

Johnston Takes From Kuhn

The flop fell K♠3♠Q♣. Johnston bet 70,000, Kuhn called. The turn came 2♦ and the pattern repeated itself — both players committing another 120,000 to the pot.

The river was the 7♥ and once again Johnston bet, this time making it 200,000 to go. It took a little less than a minute for Kuhn to make the call.

Johnston tabled K♦Q♦ for top two pair. Kuhn nodded silently and mucked his hand.

The hand checked down to a showdown as the board read 9♦3♣4♥8♣5♦. Sitbon was first to show as he tabled A♣6♣. Leonard proceeded to show an inferior suited ace, however his A♠3♠ was good for bottom pair, winning Leonard this pot.
