Hale Presses Hale

Niveau 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 7,500 ante

Brian Hastings raised to 11,000 from under the gun, and Brant Hale raised to 40,000 from the cutoff.

Hastings drew one while Hale stood pat. Hastings checked to Hale, who moved all in for 57,000. Hastings tried to find a call, but eventually released.

"Was I at least drawing live?" asked Hastings. Hale shrugged in reply.

Niveau 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 7,500 ante

Mike Watson opened to 11,000 from middle position and was called by Eric Rabl in the cutoff as well as Hugh Joiner in the big blind.

Joiner took two while both of his opponents took one after which Joiner bet 25,000. Watson quickly folded while Rabl made the call. "Eighty-Seven" announced Joiner as he turned over 8x7x6x5x3x to claim the pot from Rabl.

Having completed the draw, Liam Gannon moved all in for his last 29,000 from under the gun. Robert Massman called from the cutoff.

"If you're calling, you got me," said Gannon, and showed a ten-nine. Massman did in fact have him with ninety-eight, and Gannon's inspiring run came to an end.

Greenstein Chops One, Then Gets Chopped

Niveau 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 7,500 ante

Brant Hale raised 21,000 from the small blind, enough to put Barry Greenstein, who had danced around the bubble several times, all in.

Greenstein called and drew three, and Hale took one. Hale rolled over 10x9x6x4x2x and when Greenstein gathered his new cards he found that he too had 10x9x6x4x2x.

"I guess I should've drawn one more," quipped Greenstein, as the players took their chips back.

Unfortunately Greenstein would be eliminated a couple hands later.

Eric Rabl opened to 12,000 from middle position and was called by a player on the button. Yufei Zhong, meanwhile, was forced all in out of the big blind.

Zhong took three and the button player one while Rabl stood pat. Rabl then bet 13,000, getting a call from the button player who mucked after Rabl tabled 9x8x4x3x2x. Zhong could only muster a QxXxXxXxXx hand, sending him out of the tournament empty handed on the pure bubble.
