Moriarty Making Another Run

Niveau 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 6,000 ante

Ryan Moriarty, fresh off a runner-up finish in Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw for a career best $112,472, has managed to build an above average stack near the money in this tournament.

Lawrence Brandt opened to 10,000 from early position and was called by Moriarty in the big blind. Moriarty took one while Brandt decided to draw two with Moriarty following that up with a bet of 21,000. That was enough to convince Brandt to get out of the way, sending more chips Moriarty's way.

Mirin Survives Three-Way All In

Niveau 13 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 4,500 ante

Kelvin Kerber put his last 30,000 out from early position and Richard Mirin called from middle position. Nick Guagenti then reraised all in, and Mirin put the rest of his 95,000 stack in the middle.

Kerber deliberated for a while, his head resting on his fist, then chose to draw one. Mirin drew one, and Guagenti patted. "I only have to beat one of you," Guagenti said confidently, rolling over his Jx10x8x5x2x.

Kerber showed 9x5x4x3x, and was dealt 10x. "I threw away a ten, and got a ten," he said ambivalently, waiting to see what Mirin would catch.

Mirin had 8x5x4x2x face up, and the dealer slid a 9x to him, besting both Guagenti and Kerber, and building a suddenly very healthy stack.

Ariel Celestino

Andrew Donabedian opened to 8,000 from middle position before Benny Glaser three-bet to 26,000 from the cutoff. Ariel Celestino then cold four-bet to 80,000 out of the small blind, getting a quick fold from Donabedian. Glaser took his time but ended up making the call to send action to the draw.

Celestino took one while Glaser stood pat after which the Brazilian counted out a bet of 110,000, leaving himself around 20,000 behind. Glaser, after checking how much his opponent had left, called but mucked after Celestino tabled 7x6x5x3x2x for a winner to leave himself short as the bubble looms large.

Dorneles Neto Fires the Last Shot in Fusillade with Pearson

Niveau 13 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 4,500 ante

Joao Dorneles Neto raised to 7,000 from early position and Travis Pearson put in the three-bet to 22,000.

Dorneles Neto gave a long stare to Pearson's chip stack before turning his attention to his own, and cutting out 65,000, more than half what Pearson had remaining.

Pearson tried to find the call or all in, but chose discretion instead and let the hand go.

Hierl Felts Johnson

Niveau 13 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 4,500 ante

Shawn Hierl opened to 7,500 from the small blind, receiving a call from Marco Johnson in the big blind.

Hierl took one to Johnson's two after which he led out for 20,000. Johnson, with only a little more than the bet behind, decided to move all in and was quickly called by his opponent. "Nine-Seven" announced Johnson but it was no good as Hierl had made 7x6x4x3x2x to send Johnson to the rail short of the money.
