Action Galore! Event #78: $1,500 Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha Starts today at 4 PM
The chips will be flying this afternoon — July 7 — when Event #78: $1,500 Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha begins at the 2023 World Series of Poker, hosted at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.
It is yet another tournament expected to exceed previous editions’ numbers, with its relatively low buy-in and the guarantee of fast action, due to the bounty format.
Last year’s victor was Pei Li who took home $190,219 for the win, as well as $500 for every knockout he claimed.

Li outlasted many famous names, including Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Zack, and Daniel Weinman. And plenty of poker A-listers are expected to participate this year as players are eliminated from the Main Event, which is running concurrently.
Cards will be in the air at 4 p.m. (not 2 p.m. as previously advertised). The day’s play will consist of 14 40-minute levels, with 15-minute breaks after every three levels.
Blinds start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. There will be nine levels of late registration and up to two reentries are allowed. Players will receive a $500 bounty for every opponent they eliminate.

David Goodis raised to 300 in the cutoff and saw the button call behind. The big blind called as well and all three saw a flop of A♣4♥J♥.
Action checked through to the 5♦ turn.
The big blind checked and Goodis tossed out a bet of 700. The button folded but the big blind called to bring out the 10♦ on the river.
Both players checked and Goodis turned up the A♥K♠8♣6♠ which was good enough to take the pot as his opponent tossed his cards into the muck.

Kramer Gets Paid Twice with Top Set

Four players saw a flop of 2♥A♣4♣ and action was checked to a player in middle position, who bet 500. All three opponents called.
A turn of K♦ was checked all around and then the river fell 8♠. Desiree Kramer bet 1,500 from the big blind, and was called in two spots.
Kramer tabled A♠A♥10♣4♦ and took the hand with her set of aces.

Taylor Controlling Her Table

Esther "ETAY" Taylor was seen dragging a massive pot against a player she declared was a "jabroni."
According to Taylor, she had top set and a wrap against his overcards with a nut flush draw. Her set of tens held to secure her a big double.
Shortly after, a player took his seat on Taylor's right when she joked, "We're straddling and double straddling, so if you're not down to do that I suggest you ask the floor for a table change." He was not dissuaded.

Under the gun raised to 400 and the early position player to his left called, as did a player in middle position player and the button, putting action on Martin Kabrhel in the big blind.
Kabrhel asked the dealer, "What can I raise for pot?"
The dealer counted it up, told Kabrhel 2500, which is what he then bet.
Under the gun quickly responded by re-potting for 8,800 which prompted the next player to act to go all in for 14,500 total.
Action folded to Kabrhel who made the call as did the player under the gun. The flop came 9♠6♣2♠.
Kabrhel checked and under the gun went all in for his remaining chips, which Kabrhel called, putting himself at risk of elimination.

Under The Gun: A♥Q♥Q♣J♠
The turn and river ran out 8♠ and J♣ to give Kabrhel the winning straight and his first bounty of the day while leaving the Mr. Under the Gun still alive but with almost no chips early in the day.
As he stacked the ousted player's chips, he looked at his other opponent and asked, "What did he have again?"
After getting the answer, Kabrhel responded with a somewhat sarcastic, "Ah. Crazy gambler, yes?"
