Moorman and Palmer Can't Get Away From One Another

PokerNews was waved over to the table as Josh Palmer explained "That he was sitting to the left of Chris Moorman in the main event. He saw Moorman playing the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo online bracelet event and decided to join him." Little did he know, he would be sat in the exact same seat position online right next to Moorman. Soon after, Palmer went on to bust Moorman from the online event.

Both players are currently short of starting stack but hope to chip up before making it to Day 2 of the Main Event. With lots of tournament left to play, PokerNews will be keeping an eye on these two players throughout the day.

Yamagishi Getting Short

Nicholas Baris raised 1,000 in middle position and Colten Yamagishi three-bet to 2,500 in the cutoff. The table quickly folded back around to Baris, and he made the call.

The dealer fanned a flop of 6♣6♥4♥, and Baris check-called a continuation bet of 2,000 from Yamagishi.

Baris checked the 5♠ turn, and Yamagishi quickly checked back.

When the 10♥ landed on the river, Baris fired a bet of 10,200 into the middle. Yamagishi surrendered the pot, saving his remaining stack of 13,200.

Hinkle Wasn't Sure if He Was Bluffing

Mason Hinkle bet 11,000 from late position on a 4♠3♦5♣ and Allen Li-Xin Shen called from the button.

When the turn came 3♠, Hinkle put all 27,700 of his remaining chips in the middle. Shen tanked for three minutes, separating out the calling chips, and then putting them back in his stack as he stared down Hinkle and the flop.

Eventually he released and asked Hinkle if he had been bluffing. "As you were thinking about the call," replied Hinkle, "I wasn't sure if I was bluffing or had the best hand."

Kenney Wins Without a Showdown

Tsugunari Toma opened to 800 from under the gun and was called directly behind by Ebony Kenney. Both players in the blinds also called for a four-way pot.

Everyone checked on the 8♠4♣5♦ flop and it was checked to the big blind on the 5♥ turn, who bet 2,000. Only Kenney called.

The big blind checked to Kenney after the 7♠ completed the board and she placed 3,900 into the middle. Her opponent folded after a bit of thought and Kenney was sent the pot.

Rushton Backs into Flush

Jake Schwartz raised in early position and Bryan Rushton three-bet to 2,700, which received a call from both the button and Schwartz.

The dealer spread a flop of 9♦8♥5♣ and the action checked to the button who fired a bet of 1,500. Schwartz check-folded and Rushton check-called.

The 3♣ hit the turn and Rushton check-called another bet, this time for 4,000.

When the 6♣ fell on the river, Rushton checked for the final time before the button checked back. Rushton showed A♣10♣ for a flush on the river which was good against the buttons Q♦Q♥.
