Soverel, Bronshtein, and Yau Highlight Final Table of Online Event $13: $5,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller Championship

Six players made it through a star-studded field in Online Event #13: $5,300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Championship and will now switch from a virtual felt to a live one.

Leading the way is Sam "ApesSonIMHO" Soverel. Soverel won a race against Ethan "Rampunts" Yau with nine players left, then caught an ace on the river to crack the kings of Kyle "JackintheB0x" Miholich and send him out in eighth place in brutal fashion. Soverel ended up with 2,873,636 and the chip lead once the final table resumes live on July 5 at noon local time.

Right behind him is Yuval "Larrybird84" Bronshtein, who survived a coin flip on the final table bubble with ace-queen versus sixes on his way to virtually bagging 2,741,876. The Israeli pro will be looking for his third World Series of Poker bracelet at this final table, as will Aleksejs "APonakov" Ponakovs. The Latvian high roller, who defeated Phil Ivey to win his second bracelet in the $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em event at last year's WSOP, is in third place with 1,593,689.

Yau, the popular Twitch streamer known as “Rampage,” lived up to his name today as he stormed his way to the top of the leaderboard near the bubble and stayed there until a late swoon dropped him back to 1,311,441 to finish the night. Yau already has one online bracelet and has a chance to add a second on Wednesday.

At the back are two players who have already made deep runs in online events on WSOP.com this year. Lingkun “CN_23” Lu finished in fifth place in the $333 Triple Treys Summer Tip Off bracelet event. The New Jersey native with just $13,670 in career live earnings has already locked up $80,784 and will be chasing the top prize of $393,516 on Wednesday when he shows up for the live final table with 1,153,794.

Gergely “wildace_hun” Kulcsar just missed out on the $3,200 High Roller online final table earlier this series, finishing in eighth place. The Hungarian has $675,000 in career earnings but more than $4,000,000 online, including a SCOOP title in 2018, and will be appearing at a WSOP final table for the first time but at the bottom of the chip counts with 525,564.

The event attracted 304 total entries, including 104 reentries, generating a total prize pool of $2,040,000. Only the top 60 made the money, and Josh “Nitbuster” Arieh was eliminated on the bubble after losing most of his chips in a classic flip with ace-king to queens.

Once the bubble burst, Chad “Alienprobed” Eveslage, Dario “Sirio87” Sammartino, Maria “femmenonfelt” Ho, and Shaun “fortnite” Deeb all collected a virtual payout.

Poker Hall of Famer Erik “NW1Time” Seidel was knocked out in 18th place by Lu, while Paul “paulgees” Volpe was sent to the virtual rail by Soverel in 14th place. Jessica “JessicaTeusl” Teusl, last year’s WSOP women’s champion, ran sevens into Yau’s nines to finish in 12th place.

Matt “Berkey11_S4Y” Berkey rose to the top of the chip counts shortly after the bubble but dropped down to 267,814 by the time he got his chips in with king-ten. “borisasaurus,” flopped a set of sevens to bust him in tenth place.

Then the tournament became about the rise and spectacular fall of “Orlimar,” who took the chip lead with a massive double off Lu with 11 players left but had a disastrous final few minutes before getting their last 530,000 in against his old nemesis, who had woken up with kings.

The final six players return to play on July 5 at noon local time inside the Horseshoe Event Center. The final table will be streamed on a 60-minute delay by PokerGO. They will be playing for $393,516, the coveted WSOP gold bracelet, and the prestige of conquering such a tough field.

PokerNews will return along with them on July 5 and provide live updates from the final table until a new hybrid WSOP champion is crowned.
