Mike Shi had squeezed from the big blind preflop and was called only by Alex Kulev in middle position.
Shi then made a bet of 24,000 into the pot of 33,000 on the flop of 4♠8♣7♣ and received a call from Kulev. Shi sized up to 30,000 on the J♣ turn, which won him the pot as Kulev slid his cards into the muck.

Picking up the action on the turn, Masashi Oya from under the gun was involved in a hand with Tyler Stafman in early position.
With the board reading 9♥7♣Q♣5♠ and a sizable pot already built, Oya checked to Stafman, who bet 25,000, leaving himself a similar amount behind. Oya called to send the players to the river.
The river came K♥ and both players checked. Oya turned over 10♣10♥, strong enough to scoop the pot to leave Stafman short.

Action was picked up in a three-bet pot between Jason Koon in the big blind and Chino Rheem in the hijack.
The flop peeled off 10♥10♣9♦ and Koon bet 12,000 which Rheem called.
Koon bet a second time on the 8♥ turn, this time to the tune of 28,000 and Rheem called.
On the river 4♥, Koon bet 60,000, leaving himself just 1,000 left.
"Mr. Koon, what are you doing to me?" Rheem asked as he proceeded to burn all of his time extensions.
"I think you think I'm light, the question is are you?" Rheem continued while Koon sat in complete silence. After all of the time extensions were used, Rheem tossed his hand into the muck.
"You seem relieved," Rheem said "I had about the best hand I could have."
"Jacks?" asked Koon and Rheem nodded while Koon took in the pot.

Anthony Zinno had raised to 3,500 under the gun when he was three-bet to 12,000 by Barry Woods in the hijack. Selahaddin Bedir in the small blind then made it 29,000 to go and the action was back on Zinno.
He spent two time banks but eventually stuck in his stack of 114,500. Woods quickly folded and Bedir eventually followed suit after spending some time extensions of his own.
