2024 World Series of Poker
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has long stood as the premier poker event globally, drawing the most skilled and dedicated players worldwide. Over the next two months, fierce competition will unfold as players vie for one of the most prestigious accolades in the WSOP: the Player of the Year (PoY) title.
Those looking to immortalize their names in poker lore need to be aware of the set of new rule changes that the WSOP has implemented for the PoY race. These modifications are crucial for anyone planning their summer grind and hoping to secure a spot at the top of the leaderboard.
The $25K Fantasy league is starting to see some separation as Team The Dinkers (Josh Kay) has opened up a nice lead of 478 points, which is a good bit ahead of both Team Sternheimer (330 points) and Team Oz (251 points). Of the 19 teams, six have failed to cross the 100-point mark, while Team Chingas (19 points) and Team Lucky (17 point) at the bottom of the pack.
PokerNews has been tracking $25K Fantasy players in our live updates and has even made it simple to follow the action by tagging all players with a $25K Fantasy badge. That allows you to utilize our chip count filter option to follow only those players (just tick the $25K Fantasy badge); what’s more, each blog will have a “$25K Fantasy” tab that if you click all you will see are hands played by $25K Fantasy players.
As a result, we can capture some of the biggest, best, and most game-changing hands involving the $25K Fantasy roster.
The players are going on a 60-minute dinner break.
Play will resume at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time.
A player in early position raised to 40,000, Jeff Madsen called in the hijack, and Matthew Beinner called in the small blind.
On the Q♣10♦5♣ flop, the action checked to Madsen who bet 152,000. Only Beinner called.
The 3♦ peeled off on the turn. Beinner decided to lead all-in for 262,000 and Madsen called.
Matthew Beinner: A♥K♣Q♦J♣5♦
Jeff Madsen: A♣J♦9♠5♥2♣
Beinner was ahead with two pair but Madsen had a flush draw, straight draw, and superior low draw. Unfortunately for Madsen, the river brought the Q♠ and Beinner filled up to find the full double.
A few hands later, Madsen was eliminated.
