Bronshtein Stands Pat Against Mercier

Steve Zolotow just took his seat at this table and Yuval Bronshtein gave him 25,000. Zolotow pretended to put it in his pocket.

"No problem. A little head start for the old guys," Bronshtein joked before Zolotow handed him a green 25,000 chip for change.

Bronshtein then raised on the button and Jason Mercier called in the big blind. Mercier drew three and Bronshtein one.

Bronshtein bet and Mercier called. Mercier drew two and Bronshtein one again. Bronshtein bet once more and Mercier again called.

Bronshtein stood pat this time, while Mercier drew one. Bronshtein bet again and Mercier gave up his hand.

Lamb Pips Johansson

Oscar Johansson opened from the hijack, Ben Lamb three-bet from the small blind and Johansson called, drawing two while Lamb stood pat.

Action repeated itself across all three draws, with Lamb betting and being called by Johansson each time. Lamb stood pat for each draw while Johansson drew two, drew two again and then drew one.

Johansson tabled 8x7x6x5x2x for eight-seven but Lamb had a very slightly better eight-seven with 8x7x6x4x2x to take the pot.

Rotholz Quintuples Up

Mike Thorpe opened from under the gun, Yuri Dzivielevski three-bet from the cutoff and Hal Rotholz, who was down to one yellow T-1,000 chip, flicked in the call as did Thorpe. Dzivielevski and Rotholz drew one each while Thorpe drew two.

After the first draw Thorpe check-called another bet from Dzivielevski and drew two while both Dzivielevski and Rotholz once again drew one each.

Thorpe checked again after the second draw, Dzivielevski bet and this time Thorpe got out of the way leaving Rotholz at risk against Dzivielevski. Both players drew one for the final draw.

Yuri Dzivielevski: 5x4x3x2x

Dzivielevski drew into a Qx while Rotholz caught a 7x to take the main pot and extend his tournament life.

Both players drew one and James bet again. Yockey called and took one, while James stood pat.

James then bet and Yockey gave up his hand this time.
