Negreanu Takes Chips from Smith, Knocks Out Swarts in Single Hand

Niveau 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu raised in early position to 200,000, and then faced an all-in bet from Frank Swarts, who pushed with his remaining 400,000 effective stack.

Action folded to Shawn Smith, who appeared to make an isolation three-bet from the big blind, but Negreanu called to build a side pot of 560,000.

The dealer placed 29Q on the flop, and Smith checked. Negreanu bet 600,000, which Smith immediately called.

The turn saw 5 on the board. Smith once again checked, only to hear Negreanu announce a 1,200,000 bet, which forced Smith to fold. Negreanu and Swarts then tabled their hands in heads-up play.

Frank Swarts: 1010 All in
Daniel Negreanu: AQ

“Can you beat it?” Negreanu asked after showing his cards.

“I need help,” Swarts said before tabling his pocket pair.

The assistance didn’t come, though, as the dealer placed 6 on the river to give Negreanu a large pot.

Friendly Blind-on-Blind Action

Niveau 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Bardya Pourbolourchian was in the big blind when Steven Borella raised to 225,000 from the small blind. Pourbolourchian made the call and they went to a flop of 8310.

The action went check, check and the turn brought a K.

Again the players both checked and the river was a 6. Both players checked and Pourbolourchian showed J3 so Borella flipped over his Q3 to scoop the pot with his winning pair of treys with queen kicker.

A few moments later Pourbolourchian was seen walking out of the tournament area and has been eliminated.
