Doug Polk's Team Purchases What Will Become the Largest Poker Room in Texas

Earlier this month, thanks to an unfavorable city vote, Doug Polk was unsuccessful in his bid to open a massive poker room in a town near Dallas. But his team of investors, including poker vloggers Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen, are back and ready to take over what will soon become the largest card room in Texas.

Polk, who is playing in the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game this week, announced during Wednesday's HCL stream that his team has purchased Rounders Card Club in San Antonio. The group already owns The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock, a suburb of Austin, and that room is currently the biggest in the Lone Star State with over 70 poker tables.

Likely the biggest pot of the tournament so far took place right before players headed to their second break as Dan Zack, Matthew Wantman and another player were all eliminated.

After several raises preflop, the betting stopped at 33,400 with two players all in and the other two with crumbs behind. The rest of the chips got in the middle on the flop of 248 with David Mzareulov having his three opponents covered.

Dan Zack: 101085 All in
Matthew Wantman: AQJ7 All in
Opponent: KK73 All in
David Mzareulov: 9765

Players scrambled to see what each other had as the board finished out 43, leaving Mzareulov with a straight to scoop the pot for a triple knockout.

The hijack started the action with a raise and Josh Arieh called in the hijack and the button also called. The small blind then three-bet to 11,800 and all three players called.

The flop of 87K checked through and the hijack moved all in for around 27,000 when action checked to him on the 6 turn. Only Arieh called with a bigger stack.

Hijack: 9543 All in
Josh Arieh: A954

Both players had a straight but Arieh had a flush re-draw for a chance to scoop. The river was a blank and the two players chopped the pot.

Wick Gets Two Streets from Arieh

Niveau 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Josh Arieh opened 2,800 in early position, and Corey Wick defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 1076, and Wick took the lead, firing 3,000 across the line. Arieh called.

When the 4 hit the turn, Wick continued for 9,000, and Arieh wasted little time making the call.

The 6 paired the board on the river, and Wick checked it over to Arieh who quickly checked back.

Wick tabled 9865 for a flopped straight, and Arieh mucked his hand.

Kennedy Drags One with Full House

Niveau 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Three players saw the J10410 turn, where the player first to act fired a bet of 4,200 into the pot of about 9,500. The player next to act made the call, followed by Darren Kennedy doing the same.

When the A landed on the river, the turn aggressor continued with a bet of 11,600, which forced out the middle position player before Kennedy dropped in a few chips to make the call.

"You win," Said the player who bet as he dropped his cards face down.

Kennedy quickly showed AK102 for a full house as he pulled in the pot.
