Tokoo Takes From Varkonyi

Robert Varkonyi opened to 1,000 from middle position and found one caller in Shunsuke Tokoo in the big blind.

Tokoo check-called a 2,000 bet from Varkonyi on the 1049 flop and then both players checked on the 5 turn.

The 8 completed the board and Tokoo led out for 3,000.

Varkonyi thought a while and decided to put in calling chips and Tokoo turned over J8 for a rivered pair of eights. Varkonyi couldn't beat it and mucked — conceding the pot to Tokoo.

On a board of 7A4Q9 there were around 20,000 chips in the pot when Michael Gathy shoved the river for a little over 20,000, and Eric Yanovsky made the call.

Gathy flipped over QQ for a flopped a set, and Yanovsky mucked.

Ju Beaten by the River

On a flop of 582, the hijack bet 2,000 after he opened preflop and he made the cutoff and the small blind fold, while Samuel Ju in the big blind check-called.

Both players decided to check the 9 turn. Ju checked again the K turn, but his opponent bet 3,000.

Ju went into the tank and called. However he had to muck his cards as the hijack had KQ for top pair.

Ro Hero Calls the River

Andrew Kelsall raised to 1,100 from the hijack, the small blind called, as did Jin Ro, in the big blind.

The action checked to Kelsall on the JK3 flop, who bet out 1,400. Only Ro called.

The 2 turn saw a repeat of the action, this time Kelsall sized up to 2,700.

The 6 river saw Ro play in flow. Kelsall fired a third shell for 7,300 and Ro eventually made the call.

"You're good," said Kelsall, prompting Ro to table K10 for top pair, winning him this pot.

There was a raise to 1,100 from the cutoff. Adrian Mateos was the only caller from the button.

The flop of QK6 saw the cutoff bet 1,200 and Mateos call.

On the Q turn, the cutoff opted to check. Mateos took the betting lead and fired out a bet of 4,200. The cutoff folded and Mateos won another pot.

On the 2 river the big blind checked, Tenorio bet 8,000 and the big blind mucked.

Action came in on the river with the board reading 22J10Q. Adi Dahari bet 3,000. He was raised to 15,000 by Glen Gaines.

Dahari called after taking a few moments. Gaines tabled the 98 straight which beat the A2 trips of Dahari.

Aces Boost Trivett

Michael Trivett opened to 1,200 from under the gun and received calls from a player in middle position, the small blind and the big blind.

Action checked to the middle position player on the 474 flop and they bet 2,300. Both blinds quickly got out of the way but Trivett chose to stick around.

Trivett checked again following the 3 turn. His opponent fired another barrel, this time sizing up to 5,600. As before, Trivett made the call.

Both players checked once the 7 river completed the board with Trivett taking down the pot holding AA.
