Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Suresh Mandalapu opened to 1,000 in the cutoff and then called after Felix Barriga three-bet to 3,800 on the button.

The 9 turn saw Mandalapu bet again, this time pushing 5,000 into the middle. As before, Barriga made the call.

There was no slowing down for Mandalapu after the 5 river completed the board as he moved all in for his remaining 6,000. Barriga snap called holding QQ to down Mandalapu's A8, scoring the pot and knockout in the process.

Moneymaker Runs Into a Straight

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

After an open to 1,100 by a player in middle position called by the cutoff, Chris Moneymaker in the small blind squeezed to 6,200. The middle-position player called, as well as the cutoff.

On a flop of 297, Moneymaker continued for 5,200. He was only called by the middle-position player, who bet 8,000 on the 5 after Moneymaker checked.

The 2003 WSOP Main Event champion eventually called, then led out for 50,000 on the A. His opponent called for his last 21,500 and flipped over 86 for a straight.

Moneymaker mucked his cards, but players at the table asked the dealer to reveal them as it was an all-in and call situation. So the dealer took two cards from the muck and turned over QJ.

Moneymaker seemed a bit stunned by this hand for a few seconds while counting his stack before moving on to the next hand.

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Phil Ivey & Scott Seiver
Phil Ivey & Scott Seiver

Are we witnessing the greatest World Series of Poker (WSOP) ever?

No hyperbole, that's a genuine question. On Sunday, Scott Seiver won his third bracelet of the summer making him a lock to win the 2024 WSOP Player of the Year award. Or, so you'd think. But the latter part of that sentence couldn't be further from the truth.

Tricarico Befuddles Opponent

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Alexandro Tricarico raised to 1,000 in early position, and received a call from the player to his immediate left and a player in the small blind.

The dealer fanned 1096, resulting in checks from the player in the small blind and Tricarico. The player to Tricarico’s immediate left bet 2,200, which saw the player in the small blind fold. Tricarico check-called to bring the turn.

The dealer placed 9 on the board, and Tricarico led out with a 2,600 bet, which was immediately called.

The K showed up on the river and Tricarico sized up to a 12,000 bet, which appeared to confuse Tricarico’s opponent.

The player cleared his throat before leaning forward to study the board. Tricarico’s opponent then leaned back and crossed his arms while shaking his head before asking a question.

“Why so much?” the opponent asked.

If he was looking for an answer, none was coming because Tricarico was silent and motionless.

After moments went by, Tricarico’s opponent eventually folded but not before another comment while the pot was pushed to Tricarico.

“I couldn’t figure out why so much,” he said.
