Lewis Among Chip Leaders after Taking Bite from Guo's Stack

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

While we didn't catch the clash in question, some simple math seems to confirm what happened. Toby Lewis' stack suddenly boasts five more yellow towers worth 20,000 apiece, along with other chips. In all, he's sitting on about 130,000 at the moment while Dong Guo, who sits on the opposite side of the table, has dropped significantly.

Selbst's Kings No Good

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

It's not an unusual view seeing Vanessa Selbst in a raising war, and that was the case in the following hand, too.

Selbst was in the cutoff, battling versus her neighbour Danny Noam, who was on the button. Selbst had a four-bet in front of her, although the amount remained unclear as Noam called just when the reporters arrived.

What was a huge fight preflop didn't escalate through the remaining streets, as the {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board was checked through.

Noam turned over {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and that was enough to take down the pot as a frustrated Selbst showed {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Justin Bonomo Doubles Through Faraz Jaka

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

The player under the gun opened to 1,400, the button three-bet to 4,000, and Faraz Jaka made it 12,200 in the small blind. Action was on Justin Bonomo in the big blind, and after a couple minutes of thought, he moved all in for 43,100. It folded back to Jaka, and once Jaka got a look at Bonomo's stack, he called and had Bonomo covered.

Bonomo: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Jaka: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

It was a coin flip, and the board ran out {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Bonomo's queens held up, and he more than doubled up in the hand.

Colin York Gets Paid by Rainer Kempe

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

With the board reading {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {2-Spades}, Rainer Kempe checked in middle position, and Colin York made a nearly pot-sized bet of 9,500 on the button.

Kempe thought for a while and said, "Okay, I have to call."

He called, and York showed him {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a set to win the pot.

Dong Guo Has Heaps

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Dong Guo's main WSOP achievement came three years ago when he went deep in the Main Event, finishing in 29th place worth $230,487 — his career-best payday.

Guo has been doing some good work in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed today. Recently, he added another 10 thousand or so when he scored a knockout.

The chips went in on the flop, with {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} lying on the table. Guo showed {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and only needed to avoid a deuce, as his opponent turned over {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. The turn {4-Spades} and the river {5-Clubs} brought no harm to Guo as he vaulted to 114,000.

Anna Antimony Chipping Up

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

A little while ago, Anna Antimony doubled up when she was heads-up in a three-bet pot.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and Antimony checked under the gun. Her opponent in middle position bet, and Antimony went all in for around 24,000. Her opponent called and was drawing slim.

Antimony had a set with {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} against {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, and it held up for the double. She moved up to 76,000.

One Runner-Runner for David Peters

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

David Peters defended his big blind, facing a player in an early position. Peters check-called a bet of 1,350 on the {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop before they both checked the {6-Hearts} turn.

Another six landed on the river, the {6-Diamonds}, and Peters fired 5,500. He received a call in the blink of an eye and was likely happy with that result. The American WSOP bracelet winner was drawing for a straight on the flop, but he got better than that as his {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} made a runner-runner full house.

Hugo Perez Hits a Set

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

On Hugo Perez's table we could see the player in the cutoff limping, Perez limped on the button. The player in the small blind raised to 3,000, the big blind and the player in the cutoff folded and Perez called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and both players checked.

The turn brought the {3-Clubs}, his opponent checked, Perez bet 3,000 and the other player called.

The {8-Diamonds} on the river completed the board. Again the other player checked-called when Perez bet 7,300.

Perez showed {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for the turned set and the other player mucked.
