Vornicu Doesn't Chop

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Valentin Vornicu (as seen in a previous event)
Valentin Vornicu (as seen in a previous event)

With nine rings under his belt, Valentin Vornicu is one of the WSOP Circuit legends. To be such a superstar who wins event after event, one certainly has to have skills to extract value anywhere where it's possible.

Vornicu proved his talent in praxis, playing in a multi-way pot on the {A-}{A-}{A-}{8-}{9-} board. After the betting round, the showdown was reduced to just the Circuit hero and one other player.

"We might be chopping," said Vornicu, turning over his {9-}{7-} for a rivered boat.

"Oh, I'm one street too late," replied his opponent, showing {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a turned full house.

The pot went Vornicu's way, and so did the following two. The next hand saw Vornicu flat after a raise from an early position. He was in the lowjack and invited the hijack and big blind to the contest, too, but then took it himself with a bet on the ace-high flop.

The next hand brought an open from Vornicu's right-hand opponent, and he flatted again. The big blind called as well as they went to the {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. Again, it was Vornicu who tried to increase the pot, with a bet worth 2,700. Only big blind accepted.

Vornicu barreled the {9-Spades} turn with an additional 5,600, and the big blind check-called again.

The river was the {A-Clubs} and the player in the big blind checked to Vornicu yet again. Vornicu fired once more, making it 6,600. The big blind folded, and Vornicu took down a third pot in a row.

Nathan Manuel Vs Matt Affleck

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Nathan “Jimmie’s Boss” Manuel opened the action from early position for 1,900 and got a call from Matt Affleck sitting in the big blind.

The flop was {4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Affleck check-called a bet of 2,000.

The turn card was the {a-Spades} and got checked around on the river {3-Hearts} Affleck led out for3,000.

Manuel didn’t look too delighted with that development and surrendered the hand without too much damage done.

Poker Princess Sprinkles Some Magic

Niveau 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

There was an open and a three-bet before Kristen Doyle 'Poker Princess' min-raised and a player called Manny P moved all in.

The other players folded but Doyle said she was ready to gamble.

Kristen Doyle: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Manny P: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The flop of {10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} gave Doyle Broadway straight and the turn {5-Clubs} and river {4-Spades} couldn’t rescue Manny’s Cowboys.

Rory Henton Keeps Powder Dry

Niveau 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

The day started so promisingly for Rory Henton, winning a few early pots and getting dealt good cards is just a great feeling in poker and he was loving his World Series of Poker adventure.

Unfortunately, it has come to a premature end for Henton and he was walking away from the table after being eliminated. He still had a smile on his face and told PokerNews he was not planning to rebuy at this time.
