Humberto Brenes is Up to His Usual Tricks

Niveau 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Humberto Brenes
Humberto Brenes

Humberto "The Shark" Brenes has been quietly chipping up throughout the day but his mouth has been the opposite of quiet. Humberto is widely known for his table chatter and his toy shark that sits on top of his chips, both of which are the case today.

In a recent hand, Brenes was in the small blind and checked his option when the flop came {K-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}. The big blind also checked and the button bet 11,000. Brenes called and the big blind folded to the turn of {J-Spades}. Both players checked and the river was the {A-Spades}. Brenes checked one more time and his opponent started counting out a bet. After looking like he was going to bet, he checked behind and Brenes tabled {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. That was good enough to win the hand as his opponent showed {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}. After his opponent checked, Brenes said to him, "I was waiting for you," with a little laugh to follow.

Maria Ho Goes to Broadway

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

There was around 15,000 in the pot with the board reading {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and the action was on Maria Ho. She bet 7,500 and got called in one spot, while her other opponent folded. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river landed the {J-Spades} and Ho checked again. Her opponent bet 19,500 and Ho needed to come to a decision. After eyeing up her opponent, Ho made the call and her opponent showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} to play the board. Ho rolled over {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for a bigger straight and scooped the pot.

David Pham was all in a short while ago with about 10,000 in front of him, and he now sits on over 220,000. He looks to secure his fourth career bracelet, and second of the series.

Garrett Greer is also still in the mix, looking to spin up a stack and best his runner-up finish in this very same event after falling to the eventual winner, Jason Dewitt.

Hutter Still Hot

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Barry Hutter
Barry Hutter

Upon passing by Barry Hutter's table, he called his opponent's all in and had the best of the best with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. His opponent had {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, with Hutter sitting on a mountain of chips, and his opponent all in for about 35,000.

The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Hutter pulled even further ahead. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and his opponent picked up a straight draw. The {7-Hearts} on the river sealed the deal and Hutter scooped the pot and the elimination.
