Altman Takes a Bad Beat

Niveau 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Kenny Hallaert was in early position and raised to 85,000. Brian Altman was in the cutoff and three-bet to 240,000. Hallaert pondered about a minute and then moved all in for 1,260,000. Altman called putting Hallaert at risk.

Hallaert tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Altman showed {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades} {3-Hearts} {k-Diamonds} and Hallaert hit his two-outer on the flop to hit a set and take down a massive pot. In a gesture of pure class, Altman had no negative reaction, saying, "Nice hand," to Hallaert while shipping him the chips.

Lisa Hamilton
Lisa Hamilton

Lisa Hamilton raised to 105,000 from under the gun, and Senovio Ramirez III three-bet to 265,000 from the hijack. Yuriy Boyko four-bet shoved for 1,225,000 from the cutoff, and Hamilton called for her last 895,000. Ramirez asked for counts for both stacks but eventually folded.

Hamilton was at risk with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} in a coin flip situation with Boyko's {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and Hamilton instantly locked up the hand, leaving Boyko drawing dead. The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river was the {2-Diamonds}. "No sweat!" exclaimed Hamilton as she raked in the pot. Boyko laughed and said, "Nice flop. If they're going to do it to me, it may as well be that way."

Perry Takes Down Vega, Extends His Chip Lead

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Ralph Perry
Ralph Perry

Ralph Perry has been crushing today, and his evening just got even better, as he won another massive pot.

Following a raise to 110,000 from under the gun, Perry called in the hijack, and Martin Vega three-bet shoved from the button for nearly 30 big blinds. The original raiser laid his hand down, but Perry called and they flipped them over.

Vega: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Perry: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Perry has ben in run-like-a-god mode today, and Vega couldn't change it. The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, frustrating Vega, who missed on hitting anything. His 1,470,000 joined Perry's enormous stack, making his castle of chips even stronger.

Perry is now handling 6,200,000, an amount that would already be good for an average stack at the final table with 32 players left at the moment.

Action folded around to Richard Alsup in the small blind, and he moved all in for his last 410.000. Lisa Hamilton was in the big blind and thought for a moment before announcing a call.

The flop came {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and Alsup still needed to hit a queen or a jack to stay alive. The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, and Hamilton caught the {8-Clubs} for good measure. Alsup was sent home in 32nd place.

Chan Hits a Diamond to Hurt MacDonnell

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Daniel Chan
Daniel Chan

A giant pot emerged between Daniel Chan (cutoff) and Marc MacDonnell (button) as they faced off on the turn reading {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Spades}.

Chan fired roughly a pot-sized bet, and MacDonnell called to boost the pot up to 1,400,000.

The river {5-Diamonds} completed a diamond flush draw, and Chan pulled the trigger again. He set the price at 780,000, putting MacDonnell to a tough decision. MacDonnell thought for a moment and then lifted his cards a little. He looked to be ready to fold, but did the opposite in the following seconds.

Chan liked MacDonnell's call, turning over {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the rivered nut flush. MacDonnell paid him off and continued with 1,580,000 himself, while Chan jumped up the leaderboard, now playing 3,900,000.
