Karamalikis Eliminated by Monster Stack Perry

Niveau 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Following a {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop, big blind Jonathan Karamalikis pushed his remaining 99,000 in play. Ralph Perry was in the cutoff and he thought about the situation for a bit before calling.

Jonathan Karamalikis: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Ralph Perry: {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Perry had bottom pair and a gut shot. He was ahead as Karamalikis had only queen-high at that point, drawing for a straight himself.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} to bring Karamalikis a pair but also complete Perry's straight at the same time. Karamalikis could only hope for a chop should a six fall on the river. The dealer, however, turned over the {4-Clubs} to end Karamalikis' run in the MILLIONAIRE MAKER event.

Perry scored a knockout to increase his stack, albeit not too much in terms of proportion. He'd already been sitting on more than three million before the hand. His monster stack is now worth five times the current tournament average.

Hallaert Hauls Two Out the Door

Niveau 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Maxim Semisoshenko moved all in for 233,000 from middle position, and Kenny Hallaert called from the cutoff. Joseph Hebert then moved all in from the small blind for 360,000 and Hallaert piled some more chips in to call.

Semisoshenko was the first player at risk with {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Hebert tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Hallaert had both players covered holding {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

The flop came {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Hallaert was still ahead with two jacks. The {j-Spades} on the turn sealed the deal, and the river was the insignificant {7-Spades}, sending two players to the rail.

'I've Got a Monster' Comes Too Early from Dresch

Niveau 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

"I've got a monster," said Jeremy Dresch while showing his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} in the showdown. After shoving his 155,000 from under the gun, Dresch earned a call from big blind Pablo Mariz.

Mariz, sporting a yellow t-shirt with the logo of the Nashville Predators, the 2017 Stanley Cup runners-up, was trailing with {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Unlike the Preds, however, he wouldn't finish second. At least not in the clash against Dresch.

The window card was the {A-Diamonds}, changing the odds dramatically and Dresch never saw a queen come to the rescue as the board ran {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Dresch was headed for the payouts after having his ladies cracked.

Schulz Doubles Through Ravn

Niveau 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

"All in and a call" was overheard from Table 728 as Kevin Schulz turned over his {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. His opponent was Michael Falcon Ravn, and while his {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} isn't usually the best hand in preflop collisions, this time he wasn't in totally bad shape.

The race, however, favored Schulz as the community cards — {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} — kept his eights ahead. Schulz started the hand with 243,000. Now he escapes from push-fold mode as he has improved to nearly 30 big blinds.

Comeback Kings for Aharon Shabtay

Niveau 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Aharon Shabtay was all in before the flop for his remaining 405,000 and was called by Rumen Nanev.

Shabtay was at risk with {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Nanev held {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Shabtay did a fist pump, locking up the double-up. According to Lisa Hamilton, Shabtay has come back from having just five big blinds earlier in the day. He now sits on a healthy 40 big blinds.
