Vitch Gets Value from Fours in the Hole

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Stud

Sachin Bhargava completed with the {10-Hearts} and Chris Vitch raised with the {4-Spades}. Bhargava called.

The following streets were played in a dynamic tempo as Vitch didn't miss any chance to bat. Bhargava was ready, calling within a blink of an eye every time.

Sachin Bhargava: {X-}{X-} / {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Chris Vitch: {X-}{X-} / {4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Chris Vitch revealed {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Hearts} as his hole cards, good for trip fours. Bhargava himself had the remaining four on the board but it wasn't enough to block Vitch from making the winning hand.

Gregory Jamison Eliminated in 7th Place ($13,379)

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Gregory Jamison - 7th Place
Gregory Jamison - 7th Place

No-Limit Hold'em

Gregory Jamison was seriously short on chips and found one double with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} against the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} of Sachin Bhargava, but he could not find another. He shoved all in from the cutoff for 52,000, and Fabrice Soulier looked him up from the button.

Soulier: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Jamison: {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Spades}, giving Jamison a pair and the lead on the flop before the ace sent him packing on the turn.

Ryan Himes Doubles Through Gregory Jamison

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Ryan Himes and Gregory Jamison were the shortest stacks on the final table and they both wanted to take on each other as they capped the pot before the first draw.

Jamison patted while Himes drew one, and the same story repeated on each of the following draws. Meanwhile, Himes was calling Jamison's bets. After the third draw, though, Jamison moved all in for about a half the regular bet.

Jamison was left with scratches but he didn't like his situation. Eventually he figured out he couldn't fold, calling with {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}. Himes, however, got there on the last draw, improving to {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to double up.

Soulier Makes a Correct Call with Queen-High

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

It was originally a three-way pot between Ron Ware, Mike Ross, and Fabrice Soulier, but Ross gave up after the second draw when Ware (drew one on second draw) and Soulier (drew two on second draw) went to a war. Soulier, who was in position, raised Ware's bet.

Ware called and they both drew one on the last draw. Ware led this time and Soulier went to a deep thought process. He eventually called and heard what he wanted to hear as Ware announced, "One pair". Soulier turned over his {Q-}{8-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and scooped a nice pot to push his stack to 900,000.

"Justice" for Vitch

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Christopher Vitch
Christopher Vitch

2-7 Triple Draw

Chris Vitch raised in the small blind, and Ron Ware defended his big blind. Vitch drew two and Ware three, but one of Vitch's cards got exposed: {7-Diamonds}. He shook his head as the card was put back in the deck, and he took a replacement card. Vitch bet again and Ware called. On the second draw, Vitch took one and Ware two. Vitch bet again and Ware called.

On the last draw, Vitch was pat. Ware took a card and then snap-called a bet, but Vitch rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

Vitch said the seven was what he needed and he had caught another on fourth street.

"That's justice then," Mike Ross said.

Soulier Pushes Vitch Out on Seventh Street

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Chris Vitch was the bring-in with the {4-Hearts}. The action folded to Gregory Jamison who completed with the {8-Clubs}. Fabrice Soulier, directly to Jamison's left, raised, and Vitch, who was next to act, called. Jamison mucked.

Soulier led the fourth street before check-calling on the fifth. The sixth street brought a pair on the board for both players, with Soulier catching fives and Vitch pairing his fours. They both checked but Soulier then bet the seventh street. Vitch scanned both boards and then turned his cards face down, giving this one up as he clearly failed to make low hand.

Fabrice Soulier: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} / {X-}
Chris Vitch: {X-}{X-} / {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} / {X-} (folded on the seventh street)

Jamison Doubles Through Himes

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Action folded to Ryan Himes who completed last to act with {4-Clubs}. Gregory Jamison raised with {3-Spades} and the players got the remaining money in on fifth street.

Himes: {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} / {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Jamison: {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {3-Spades}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}

Himes had the lead for the moment with fours but was staring at a dangerous four-card wheel with an open-ended straight draw. Himes pulled a {9-Spades} leaving him dead on the low end while Jamison got the {k-Diamonds}. Jamison turned over his last card, and it was the {a-Hearts}, giving him a wheel and a scoop as Jamison showed {8-Clubs} for two pairs.

Ware Picks Off Vitch

Niveau 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

So far, we saw mostly only minor pots after the break. The round of pot-limit Omaha brought one check-raise from Fabrice Soulier, but that was just about it.

The most entertaining hand thus far has emerged in the limit hold'em when Chris Vitch and Ron Ware entered the pot from the blinds.

Vitch opened with a raise and Ware flatted his big blind. Vitch then continued with barrels on all streets and Ware called him down. Vitch was bluffing with {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} while Ware played his {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} carefully, despite flopping top pair and top kicker as the board {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} unfolded.
