Belianin Doubles through Habl

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha:

Georgii Belianin was in the big blind, playing against button Daniel Habl on the {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. Belianin tapped and, when Habl placed in 2,200, responded with a check-raise to what looked to be 9,900. Habl called.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} and Belianin pushed all in for his 21,400. Habl didn't seem to be happy but he wasn't ready to release his hand either. After giving it some thought, Habl eventually called.

Belianin: {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Habl: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}

Belianin was ahead with two pair but Habl had a plenty of outs to take down the pot, holding the nut-flush draw and a wrap.

The river was, however, the {A-Clubs} and Belianin's jacks and sevens remained the best hand, securing him a large double.

Jason Mercier Eliminated by Shaun Deeb

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Razz:

Jason Mercier's seat was empty and Shaun Deeb said, "You're gonna wanna hear this."

According to him, he opened with a {7-} showing and Mercier moved all in for only a few thousand chips with a {4-}. Deeb called.

The boards ran out as followed:

Deeb: {7-}{5-} / {7-}{3-}{j-}{7-} / {x-}
Mercier: {9-}{8-} / {4-}{9-}{k-}{k-} / {x-}

Deeb squeezed his last card: a {3-}, giving him a pair of threes as a low. Mercier just needed to not pair and he would stay alive. However, he turned over the {8-} giving him a pair of eights for a low and was eliminated.

Chidwick Wins Sizeable Pot in Omaha 8

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Omaha 8 or Better:

There were {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} on the felt as Stephen Chidwick and Andrey Zhigalov faced off. It was just before the showdown when we arrived, and chips in front of both players indicated there was a betting on the way through the river. Chidwick turned over a flopped top set improved to a full house with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{X-}{X-}, scooping a big pot off his Russian opponent.

Zhigalov is, however, still sitting on a comfortable stack.

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better:

Nadieliaiev: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Vitch: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Spades} and Nadieliaiev doubled up.

"Hey baby," said Natasha Mercier as her husband and five-time bracelet winner Jason Mercier approached her table after his was broken.

"I asked them to give me another seat," said Jason tongue-in-cheek. "How much have you got?" he asked.

"About the same as you," replied Natasha.

"Well if you're going to give them to anyone..." said Jason, but he was interrupted by tablemate Shaun Deeb.

"Oh, I'm gonna be watching!" he said. "Every bet I'm gonna be watching!"

Mercier Beats Bevans in Lowball

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw:

Jason Mercier raised from the button and both players in blinds called him — Karim Bevans from the small blind and Stephen Chidwick, who was recently moved to this table, from the big blind.

Bevans drew one, Chidwick two, and Mercier three. Action checked to Mercier, who continued with a bet. Bevans raised, forcing Chidwick out of the pot. Mercier stuck around.

Both players then drew for one card with Mercier praying. "Oh, please," he said before looking at his new card. No bets were made on that street and Bevans and Mercier both drew for one again.

Bevans checked and Mercier announced what he was going to do. "I am only gonna bet if I make something sweet." He did bet and Bevans mumbled something about pairs before throwing his hand into muck.

While raking in the pot, Mercier declared, "I had eight."

Michael Fant Draws to Three Outs to Stay Alive

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw:

Action was on the last draw after Michael Fant had committed his last 1,500 chips to the pot against Daniel Negreanu. The Canadian had stood pat and Fant was agonising over his decision. Eventually he drew one.

"Good break," said Negreanu, showing {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

Fant showed {8-}{6-}{4-}{2-} and was alive, albeit drawing very thin with only a three meaning he would stay in the tournament.

He flipped over a {3-}. "Holy shit!" said Negreanu, and a grateful Fant gathered in his chips.

Greenstein Dusted by Negreanu and Serock

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo:

Barry Greenstein was one the shortest stacks coming back for Day 2 and he couldn't spin his way back up. Greenstein was up against Daniel Negreanu and Joe Serock and his cards went into muck when he saw Negreanu making a wheel for the nut-low while Serock took the other half of the pot, showing {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for kings full.
