Zinno Makes a "Tight Fold," Then Doubles Monnette

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

After the draw, Anthony Zinno bet. Usman Siddique moved all in over the top of the bet. Zinno then folded an eighty-seven low face up.

"That was a tight fold," he said after the hand.

On the next hand, Phil Hellmuth opened with a raise to 3,500. Zinno made it 11,000 before Monnette moved all in for just over 18,000. Everyone folded, including Hellmuth, but Zinno called. Monnette stood pat, while Zinno pitched in one card, showing a {10-} face-up. Monnette had {10-}{9-}{7-}{6-}{5-} for a ten-low. Zinno showed {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, having broken the best hand. He did not improve with his draw, either, pulling a {Q-} to give him a worse low. With that, Monnette doubled up, while Zinno was left with a short stack.

Baxter Busts to Leah; Alaei Takes from Klodnicki

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante

Ray Dehkharghani raised to 2,500, and Billy Baxter three-bet to 7,000 on the button, Randy Ohel four-bet to 12,000 in the big blind, and both opponents folded.

Soon after, Baxter raised to 3,000, and three players called. Mike Leah squeezed to 11,000, and Baxter moved all in for 15,250, while everyone else folded. Leah stood pat and was showing a seventy-six, while Baxter was already drawing dead with an eight.

In one of the last hands of the level, Chris Klodnicki and Daniel Alaei got into a hand, and the draw was already complete. Klodnicki bet 25,000, and Alaei called. Klodnicki announced a pair of eights, and Alaei claimed the pot with {10-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Lamb Gets There to Stay In; Karlins Busts Right After

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante
Marvin Karlins
Marvin Karlins

Marvin Karlins raised to 3,000, and short stack Ben Lamb moved all in for little more. "How much more?" Karlins asked, and once he spotted the tiny stack, he announced the call.

Lamb drew two cards and flipped over {8-}{3-}{2-}. Karlins drew one and showed his {9-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Lamb first turned over the {6-} and said, "First one is good, we are probably even now." His last card was the {7-}, and Karlins paired his deuce to let Lamb double on his second bullet.

Shortly thereafter, Karlins was all in and at risk against Mike Watson and tabled {7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}. Watson made low with a {10-}{8-}, and Karlins paired his six to run out of chips entirely. It was his second bullet, as well, so Karlins has been eliminated from the tournament.

Wolansky Runs Into Gregorich's Eighty-Seven

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante

Christopher George opened with a raise to 3,000. Action folded to Mark Gregorich, who raised to 9,000 from the small blind. Next to act was Steven Wolansky in the big blind, and he moved all in. Action folded back around to Gregorich, and after a moment to think, he called.

Gregorich stood pat, while Wolansky drew one. Gregorich showed {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}, while Wolansky turned up {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-} but drew a {9-}. It wasn't good enough, and after a count, Wolansky had just over 1,000 more than Gregorich.

Wolansky was eliminated just a couple hands later by Jesse Martin when Martin made a seventy-six.

Schulman Doubles Through Wasserson

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante

Nick Schulman raised to 2,500, and Eric Wasserson three-bet to 7,000 from one seat over, which Schulman called. Both players stood pat, and Schulman moved all in for 21,100. Wasserson gave it some thought and called, and Schulman turned over {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

Wasserson studied his cards carefully and showed {9-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} for a ninety-six, as well, but he had the slightly inferior hand to give Schulman the double-up.

Sammartino Takes From Deeb

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante

Dario Sammartino raised to 3,300. He was called by Shaun Deeb from the blinds. Deeb took one, while Sammartino stood pat. Deeb then bet 10,000. Sammartino called quickly.

Deeb showed {9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}, but it was no good, as Sammartino turned up {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a better eight-seven low, which allowed him to take down the pot.

Just One Draw in Sight

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 250 ante

Naoya Kihara raised to 2,400, and Darren Elias three-bet to 8,000. It folded back to Kihara, and he moved all in for more than 100,000, forcing a quick fold from Elias.

Elias raised to 3,000 the next hand, and Jeff Lisandro three-bet to 10,500 in the small blind, which ended the hand right there.

Lisandro raised to 3,700, and Philip Sternheimer in the small blind as well as Elias in the big blind came along. Elias drew two cards, Lisandro took one, and Sternheimer stood pat.

It checked to Lisandro, and a bet of 11,000 by the Australian found no caller.
