Canadians Feeling Right at Home

Niveau 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Some like to say Canada is a place where it is cold all the time. However, walking into the Amazon Room today, the temperature would make you feel like you are in Canada. Maybe that's why some of these Canadians are feeling like they're right at home and starting to run up some big stacks. Kristen Bicknell, Mike Leah, and JC Wallace are all heading into the dinner break with healthy chip stacks as they look to make deep runs in this Marathon event.

Geller Doubles Through Farrell

Niveau 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The early rise of Niall Farrell has seem a dramatic downfall over the past hour, and in the last hand before the break, the Scotsman took another hit to his stack.

Joining the action on the {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, Farrell checked his cards in middle position, and Gregory Geller announced an all in. Farrell asked for a count, and Geller's stack was already prepared for the upcoming chip race of the T-100 chips during the dinner break. His shove was for 59,300, far more than the pot, and Farrell engaged in some table talk.

"You can fold," Geller said.

"That is one option," sighed Farrell, and he called about a half-minute later.

Geller tabled {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and walked away over to the next table, not wanting to watch the outcome of the hand. Farrell had some outs with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, but the {A-Diamonds} turn and {J-Diamonds} river were both blanks.

"You are good," Farrell said and turned around to Geller, who then walked back.

"I just wanted it to be over with," Geller said and headed into the dinner break with a fresh double.

Niall Farrell In a Fair Fight

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Three players were in the hand and saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Niall Farrell was in the big blind, and he checked. The original raiser bet, and the player on the button called. Farrell responded by check-raising all in for 46,000. The original raiser called, and the other player folded.

Farrell showed {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flush draw and a gutshot, and he was up against {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

“A fair fight,” said Farrell, sipping on his drink.

The turn card was the {3-Hearts}, bringing the flush, and the river was the {5-Clubs}.

Muse Takes from Kruk

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Christopher Kruk raised from the button and called a three-bet by Danamarie Muse in the big blind to see a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Muse bet 10,000, and Kruk called before doing so again on the {9-Diamonds} turn for 26,000. The {3-Clubs} fell on the river, and Muse checked, Kruk checked behind.

Muse turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a set and claimed the pot.

Hold My Coffee

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Upeshka De Silva has been on a roller coaster ride today, but lately, he's been on the upswing. During a recent hand, De Silva had another player hold his coffee for him; he had some chips to win.

The board read {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{J-Spades}, and the action was checked to De Silva. He bet 28,600 into a pot of around 60,000. His opponent thought for a couple moments before calling, and De Silva showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades}. De Silva scooped the pot, and the other player handed his coffee back to him.
