Après un Jour 1 qui avait vu tous les membres du Team Winamax chuter tour à tour, le Jour 2 du 6-Max à 5000$ des WSOP a été fatal à Alexandre Reard, éliminé à quelques places l'argent. Nick Petrangelo, Antonio Esfandiari, Mohsin Charania, Greg Merson, Pablo Mariz ou encore Chris Moorman ont aussi manqué le coche.
Joseph Alban finit lui à la 88e place pour une belle bulle. Jesse Sylva, Layne Flack, Rocco Palumbo, Kitty Kuo, Jonathan Abdellatif, Bart Lybaert, Dietrich Fast, Sam Grafton, Michael Mizrachi, Adam Owen, Ankush Mandavia, James Romero, Dario Sammartino, Jonathan Little , John Racener,James Mackey, Sergi Reixach et les Français Damien Le Goff (26e pour 15,868$), Adrien Delmas (61e pour 8031$) et Thi Nguyen (71e pour 7591$) ajoutent une place payée à leur palmarès.
Ils étaient 191 à revenir et ils ne sont plus que 18 après 10 niveaux d'une heure. Deux Français ont atteint les places payées et sont toujours en course pour le bracelet : Dan Abouaf, dont le seul cash WSOP est une place payée sur le Main Event 2006 remporté par Jamie Gold, a encore beaucoup de profondeur alors que Louis Linard alias Labrik n'a qu'un peu plus de 20 blindes sur cet Event #36.
Chipleader à l'entame du Jour 2, Faraz Jaka est toujours en piste lui aussi. En tête du tournoi un long moment du Jour 2, Jaka a cédé le commandement au Belge Kenny Hallaert. Le TD de Namur et de l'Unibet Open confirme un peu plus ses talents de joueur, lui qui a été November Nine en 2016.
Hallaert a bénéficié d'un 6-bet all-in de Moritz Dietrich en combat de blindes pour éliminer son adversaire avec . l'Allemand s'était un peu emballé avec ... Derrière le Belge on retrouve Chris Hunichen, Nadar Kakhmazov (vainqueur du MSPT au Venetian la semaine dernière, ndlr), Faraz Jaka, Rob Kuhn et donc le tricolore Dan Abouaf.
Le Jour 3 s'annonce intense puisque Sam Soverel, Garrett Greer, James Obst,Jonathan Jaffe et le Canadien Mike Leah n'ont pas dit leur dernier mot !

With about 70,000 already in the middle and the board reading , Christian Rudolph checked from the big blind, Jesse Sylvia checked from under the gun, and Chris Hunichen checked behind on the button.
The turn brought the and all three players checked.
The fell on the river and action checked around to Hunichen, who bet 165,000. Rudolph quickly folded and Sylvia check-raised all in for a total of 364,000, sending Hunichen into the tank.
"This is sick," said Hunichen after nearly three minutes. "The only way you can be bluffing is if you just think I'm bluffing."
After about five minutes total, Hunichen called. Sylvia tabled , but Hunichen flipped over for trip tens to win the pot and send Sylvia to the cage.
