Joe McKeehen n'est pas que le gagnant du Main Event WSOP 2015, un succès à 7,6 millions de dollars. L'Américain a désormais amassé 13,6 millions de dollars sur le circuit live grâce à sa deuxième victoire sur un World Series Of Poker.
Avant dernier du classement à la reprise à 14 left, McKeehen a signé sa 3e victoire de 2017 en remportant le WSOP Event #38 Championship Limit dans la nuit de mercredi à jeudi. Il était encore short-stack à 3 left... ce qui ne l'a pas empêché d'ajouter 311 817$ à sa bankroll.

"J'ai gagné toutes les mains au début [...] C'est du Limit vous pouvez tomber très bas et en gagnant quelques mains vous passez énorme. J'ai eu un superbe run", a indiqué celui qui est donc passé de moins de 100 000 jetons à 6 millions de jetons en quelques heures.
Sorel Mizzi termine 3e après s'être fait craquer un brelan. Alors que McKeehen était à tapis avec deux paires, il a frappé la rivière pour lancer son rush à 3 left. 40 minutes plus tard, Mizzi rendait les armes contre Talarico qui termine donc runner-up.
En piste pour deuxième bracelet WSOP en moins d'une semaine, Ben Yu s'incline au pied du podium. Chipleader en début de Jour 3, JC Tran devra attendre pour un 3e bracelet (5e). Ce duo a été sorti par Mizzi qui n'a ensuite pas eu la réussite pour finir le travail.
Plus tôt dans la journée, Ian Johns (11e) et Shaun Deeb (12e) avaient raté la dernière marche pour un gain de 21 318$ tout comme Daniel Negreanu (13e pour 17 894$).
