Action River

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player under the gun raised to 1,700. Kim Schumann was in the hijack and called.

The flop was {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the turn which was the {q-Spades}. The player under the gun check-called Schumann's bet of 2,100.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} and under the gun checked. Schumann bet 3,000 and was check-raised up to 10,000. Schumann moved all in almost before the check-raise was in the pot, sending his opponent into the tank. After a few minutes and the under the gun player commenting at how weird it was that Schumann moved all in so fast, he called.

Schumann tabled {j-Spades}{9-Spades} for a straight and the under-the-gun player flashed {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for two pairs.

Wiener Continues to Chip Up

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Mel Wiener
Mel Wiener

Mel Wiener was under the gun and raised to 2,000. He was called by the cutoff and big blind.

The flop was {3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts} and everyone checked to the turn which was the {7-Hearts}.

Wiener bet 2,000 and was called by the cutoff.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Wiener piled in a bet of 15,000, covering his opponents remaining stack. The cutoff folded and Wiener gleefully raked in the pot.

Mel Weiner has stood the test of time, cashing at the WSOP over three different decades. His best three results were winning a gold bracelet back in 1996 in a $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event and then finishing second in 2002 and 2015 in a $1,500 PLO and $1,000 Hold'em event. Wiener says he is going to make a run today and will crack the 100,000 chip mark shortly. Stay tuned in.

David "Doc" Sands Wins At Showdown...Without Showing

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With around 6,500 in the pot preflop, David "Doc" Sands was heads up with an opponent directly to his right. The flop came {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and both players checked to the {5-Spades} turn card. His opponent led out for 3,500 and Sands called.

The river brought the {2-Hearts} and his opponent bet again for 7,000. Sands quickly called and his opponent tossed his cards in the muck. With Sands having the only live hand remaining, the pot was shipped to him without having to show his cards as well.
