Safety First

Niveau 25 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

All pots are small, and flops are a rare thing in the fifth level so far. But when Fernando Macia limped from early position, inviting small blind Nathan Gamble and big blind Adam Hendrix to the flop, it looked there might be some action.

That was a wrong assumption, as the {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board was checked through. What made the hand more interesting was the showdown, as Hendrix held {K-}{10-}{X-}{X-} for flopped top two while Macia had {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{X-}{X-} for a flopped nut flush.

Still, no bets were made, and the patient grind carries on.

Adam Hendrix Scoops

Niveau 25 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Nathan Gamble limped, and Adam Hendrix checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Spades}, and Gamble bet 40,000. Hendrix called. Both players checked the {a-Clubs} on the turn, and the {2-Hearts} came on the river. Gamble checked, and Hendrix bet 90,000.

Gamble called and Hendrix showed {10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a set of tens. Gamble mucked, obviously having not made a low.

Quiet Eight

Niveau 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

All eight players are playing patiently, apparently trying to avoid big clashes. The only exception was Nathan Gamble's barreling on the turn and river in a heads-up pot against Adam Hendrix, who paid 75,000 on the turn but folded to Gamble's 200,000-chip river bet.

Wendy Weissman Eliminated in 9th Place ($15,470)

Michael Gross raised to 55,000, and Wendy Weissman potted to 177,000. Gross called.

The rest of Weissman's chips went in on the {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop, and Gross called.

Weissman: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Gross: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and the river the {k-Clubs}. That gave Gross a better eight-low than his opponent and the nut flush. Weissman was eliminated in ninth place for $15,470.

Henson Has Aces Again

Niveau 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Ray Henson had already found aces in his hand during play at the final table, and he peeked at the bullets again just a few moments ago.

Henson was in middle position, and he raised to 75,000. Miguel Use scanned Henson's stack, signaling with his hand that he'd like to have a better view of Henson's remaining chips. Henson obliged, and Use decided to see the flop, calling.

The {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop saw Use announce, "Pot," covering Henson's leftovers. Henson snap-called.

Ray Henson: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Miguel Use: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Henson had flopped the nuts, but the race was still a sweat with Use drawing for spades. The rest of the board bricked, however, and Henson doubled his 189,000.
