On Day 1 of Event #49: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed, a total of 630 players took to the felt in pursuit of the top prize of $362,185 and a WSOP gold bracelet. But only 127 will return today when the second day of play begins at 2:00 p.m. local time. Out of those returning for Day 2, 95 will cash and a min-cash is good for $4,499. This year's event in the 2107 World Series of Poker drew a bigger crowd than it did last year, as the field size grew by a total of 50 players.

Leading the way is Guilhereme Barbosa with 256,600, and close behind him are Chino Rheem (214,400), Gionni DeMers (211,300), Samuel Higgs (200,100) and Juha Helppi (194,500). But the road to victory won't be easy for anyone, since many accomplished players still remain in contention, including Felipe Ramos (97,000), David Williams (84,800), Jared Bleznick (75,600), Hunter Cichy (56,600), Jake Schwartz (37,500), James Obst (32,700), Anthony Zinno (24,700) and JC Tran (14,900).

Play on Day 2 will consist of 10 one-hour levels with 15-minute breaks every two levels and a one-hour dinner break after Level 16 at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time.

Majid Yahyaei Doubles Through Igor Sharaskin

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Igor Sharaskin raised to 3,000 from under the gun, Hunter Cichy called from the cutoff, and both blinds came along as well.

The flop fell {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and both blind checked to Sharaskin who bet 7,000. Cichy folded and Majid Yahyaei check-raised all in from the small blind. The big blind folded and Sharaskin called to put Yahyaei at risk.

Majid Yahyaei: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Spades}
Igor Sharaskin: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Yahyaei had the best of it with top set, but he needed to fade Sharaskin's flush and straight draws in order to survive. The {4-Hearts} turn gave Sharaskin his flush, but the {4-Diamonds} river paired the board to give Yahyaei aces full of fours, so he took the pot.

Danny Wong Off to a Quick Start

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

The action was on Danny Wong on the button who was facing a raise of 2,800 from the cutoff. Wong reraised to 9,500, both blinds folded and the cutoff called to go heads up to the flop.

The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and both players checked to the {a-Spades} on the turn. His opponent checked again and Wong bet 20,800, sending his opponent into the tank. He thought for a couple minutes before finally tossing his cards away. Wong has picked up a couple early pots to get over the 100,000-chip mark.

Mark Reilly Chips Up Through Samuel Higgs

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Samuel Higgs raised to 3,200 from under the gun and Mark Reilly called from the button.

The two players saw a flop of {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} and Higgs checked. Reilly bet 4,500 and Higgs called. The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and Higgs check-called a bet of 13,000 from Reilly.

The {8-Clubs} fell on the river and Higgs checked again. Reilly bet 29,000, and after a few moments of thought, Higgs called.

Reilly instantly tabled {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for Broadway, which was good enough to win the pot and Higgs sent his cards into the muck.

David Williams Pushes Off His Opponent

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

With around 14,000 in the pot and the board reading {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, David Williams was looking at a bet of 8,800 from his opponent. Williams slid out the chips for a call and the {7-Diamonds} came on the river.

This time his opponent checked and Williams bet 18,000. His opponent was stumped, with a confused look on his face and a shake of the head. He thought for around three minutes but eventually laid his hand down.
