Action at Table 704

Niveau 10 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
James Chen
James Chen

Niall Farrell had what appeared to be a four-bet to 156,000 in front of him in a blind battle with Jake Schindler. Schindler made the call from the big blind, seeing a {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop. Farrell put out a bet of 100,000 and Schindler quickly folded with a sigh.

Just a bit after that at the same table, Ari Engel bet 42,000 in the small blind into a pot of 120,000 on a {6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop. James Chen called from under the gun. The turn was a {j-Spades} and Engel checked. Chen bet 150,000 and Engel called. Both players checked when the {a-Diamonds} hit.

Engel showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} but had been outdrawn on the river by {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Dietrich Doubles

Niveau 9 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We arrived with the action already underway on the flop. Small blind Andrew Robl and big blind Moritz Dietrich had checked to Adrian Mateos on {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and the Spaniard had bet 40,000 from early position. Robl called before Dietrich squeezed all in for about 350,000 total. Mateos folded and Robl called.

Moritz Dietrich: {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Andrew Robl: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

The {J-Clubs} on the turn gave both trips and the {4-Clubs} on the river didn't change a thing. Double-up for Dietrich.

Morgan: "I'm Gonna Burn My Shoes"

Niveau 9 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
John Morgan
John Morgan

Igor Kurganov (hijack) and John Morgan (button) got their chips in before the flop. Morgan was the one at risk and had the slightly worse hand to start with.

John Morgan: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Igor Kurganov: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {7-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop didn't do much for anyone. Kurganov told Morgan he had a feeling an {8-} would hit. "It would give you a little bit of a sweat as well," Kurganov said as it would give Morgan a gutshot.

The turn, though, wasn't an eight, but the {10-Spades}, helping Morgan take the lead in the hand. Now Kurganov needed help but he didn't seem too fazed. "I still think the eight is coming," he said.

Wouldn't you know it, the {8-Diamonds} completed the board and Kurganov won the hand.

"I got river problems man," Morgan said.

As he got up from the table and shook some hands, he said: "I'm gonna go outside and burn my shoes!"

As everyone laughed, Morgan wondered off saying, "You'll see it on Twitter."

Hellmuth, who for some reason burned his shoes for good luck last night, offered to help Morgan, but he didn't seem too serious about wasting his footwear.

Nitsche Picks Off Kenney

Niveau 9 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche checked from the small blind on a board of {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Bryn Kenney bet 121,000 on the button and Nitsche quickly called. Kenney showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a whiffed combo draw, and Nitsche had hit top pair on the river with {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Tsoukernik Doubles to 2.2 Million

Niveau 9 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

"Hey, who is doing the chip counts?" Tony Guoga shouted.

We came over to the table and saw Leon Tsoukernik stacking a huge pot that doubled him up to 2.2 million.

"Leon was trying to be trapped with ace-king, but he qualified with ace-seven," Guoga said.

According to another onlooker, Tom Marchese was the player with ace-king, and both players paired aces, but Tsoukernik hit a seven for two pairs.

Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Ari Engel raised to 28,000 from the cutoff and Scott Seiver called from the button.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Engel check-called 47,000 from Seiver to see the {Q-Spades} turn, which both players checked. The river was the {8-Spades} and both players checked again.

Engel showed {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for eights and fives, Seiver mucked, and Engel won the pot.

Moore Doubles In One of the First Hands

Niveau 9 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded to Oleksii Khoroshenin in the cutoff and he opened to 27,000. Chris Moore, right next to him, called from the button. Small blind Christian Christner squeezed to 120,000 and the big blind and Khoroshenin both folded. Moore tanked for a bit before he called.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Christner pushed all in. Moore called instantly for 340,000 total with {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Christner found himself in a bad spot as he turned over {K-Spades}{J-Spades}.

The {5-Clubs} on the turn made some chops possible, but the {J-Hearts} on the river didn't save Christner.
