No River Wheel Chop for Wheeler

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

Jason Wheeler moved all in preflop from the button and Valentin Vornicu called out of the big blind, putting Wheeler at risk.

Wheeler: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}
Vornicu: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

It was domination nation for Wheeler but when the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, Wheeler picked up some chop outs, needing a five to make a wheel on the board.

Unfortunately, the river was the {6-Spades} and Wheeler was eliminated.

Tureniec Doubles with the Sickest of Coolers

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

The worst thing that can happen to a poker player fighting for the chip lead deep in a major event is to run kings into aces.

That is exactly what just happened to Luigi Knoppers. The beneficiary, Michael Tureniec.

Tureniec opened to 110,000 from under-the-gun. Action folded to Knoppers in the cutoff and he made it 320,000. Tureniec four-bet to 710,000 and called Knoppers' five-bet shove, putting himself at risk.

Tureniec: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Knoppers: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

A sick, sick cooler that could not have gone down any other way. Knoppers still had hope and a shot at taking a monster chip lead.

The board, however, ran true for Tureniec, fanning out {8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Tureniec was pushed the largest pot of the event thus far.

O'Hara Finishes Off Knoppers

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Harry Lodge opened to 100,000 from late position and Luigi Knoppers three-bet jammed all-in for 550,000 in the cutoff. Action folded to Ian O'Hara in the big blind and he four-bet jammed all-in, getting Lodge to fold.

O'Hara: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Knoppers: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and though Knoppers picked up a flush draw on the flop, he bricked the way out and departed from the tournament floor.

Baldwin Wins a Huge One Then Loses a Small Flip

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Eric Baldwin (as seen in previous event)
Eric Baldwin (as seen in previous event)

Eric Baldwin has amassed one of the top chip stacks in the room and he is not shying away from any action.

Hand #1: David Jackson was under the gun and raised to 100,000. Eric Baldwin three-bet to 255,000 from the cutoff and Gary Sewell called in the big blind, as did Jackson.

The flop was {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and everyone checked to the turn which was the {4-Clubs}. Sewell led out for 350,000, Jackson folded and Baldwin called.

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Sewell fired out a bet of 500,000. Baldwin moved all in for over 2,000,000 and Sewell tanked on his decision for his remaining stack of 700,000. After some deliberation, Sewell called. Baldwin tabled {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a full house and Sewell sent his cards to the dealer who mucked the hand without showing.

Hand #2: Action folded around to Eric Baldwin who raised from the hijack. Randy Pfeifer was on the button and moved all in for 390,000, Baldwin called.

Randy Pfeifer: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Eric Baldwin: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and the rivered jack gave Pfeifer new life and a larger stack to work with.

Vivian Im Doubles, Again

Niveau 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Vivian Im has doubled once again and according to her tablemates, it doesn't matter what the hands are when she puts her chips in the middle, she is going to win.

Im put herself at risk once more, getting called by Brad Albrinck.

Im: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Albrinck: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Before the board was even dealt, her tablemates all started talking about a queen or a spade combo undoubtedly hitting the board. Sure enough, the dealer fanned out a {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} board and Im flopped a queen to stay alive.
