Negreanu Rips It

Niveau 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Talal Shakerchi was first to act and opened with a raise to 42,000. Daniel Negreanu called as did Gary Benson.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Benson checked to Shakerchi. Shakerchi put out a bet of 75,000. Negreanu announced pot, and Benson quickly folded. Shakerchi folded promptly as well and Negreanu took down the pot.

"I think if you had the same hand as me you would've played it the same way," Negreanu said to Isaac Haxton after the hand.

"Depends on what you had," Haxton said.

Mizrachi Firing Away in Limit Hold'em

Niveau 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Michael Mizrachi just played a furious series of limit hold'em hands that resulted in first a big loss and then a big net win.

First, Ian Johns and Mizrachi both checked a {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop, and Johns fired on the {7-Hearts} turn. Mizrachi called, and Johns bet the {k-Diamonds} as well. Mizrachi raised.

"You got a king, you're the man," Johns said as he tossed in a call.

"You got it," Mizrachi said, throwing {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} into the middle. Johns took it with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

The next hand, Mizrachi raised and called a three-bet from Matthew Ashton, who had the button. Mizrachi check-called a {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop and both checked the {5-Hearts} turn. Mizrachi bet the {j-Spades} river, and Ashton called but couldn't beat {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Mizrachi three-bet the next hand after Johns opened, and he won it with a bet on the {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. "The Grinder" showed the {10-Clubs} and raked in the pot.

Then, Mizrachi raised on the button. Ashton reraised in the small blind and Mizrachi called. Ashton bet the {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop and Mizrachi called. Ashton slowed down on the {8-Hearts} river and check-called a bet from Grinder. He did the same on the {5-Hearts} river, and Mizrachi showed {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, winning with top pair.

Wattel Sliding While Obst Regains Some Ground

Niveau 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Razz

Obst: {x-}{x-} / {3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Wattel: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} — Folded

James Obst completed and Mike Wattel called him. Wattel picked up the betting lead on fourth street and bet. Obst called.

On fifth street Wattel continued with a bet, but this time Obst made it two bets. Wattel called. On sixth street, Obst led out with the betting lead and Wattel folded very frustratedly, tossing his cards forward after checking his hole cards several times.

Wattel fell to one of the shorter stacks in the room while Obst regained some of the chips that he had lost earlier.

Double for the Grinder

Niveau 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Pot-Limit Omaha

Michael Mizrachi completed the blind, and Matthew Ashton potted to 48,000. "The Grinder" called and checked a {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop. Ashton potted, and Mizrachi stuck his stack in, which turned out to be 231,000.

Mizrachi: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Ashton: {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Mizrachi had top-top and a couple of blockers, while Ashton had sixes with a straight draw. He got there right away when the {5-Clubs} hit, and Mizrachi exited his seat in disgust and started to walk away. He didn't realize he had a set, and he filled up on the {6-Clubs} river to double.

"I didn't even know," he said with a sheepish laugh as he walked back to his seat when told he won the pot. "I thought I was dead."

Katz and Benson Continue to Trade Pots

Niveau 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Stud

Katz: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades} / {x-}
Benson: {x-}{x-} / {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} / {x-}

Aaron Katz and Gary Benson have been feuding a bit for the better part of the day, and on at least one occasion have exchanged some heated words over some etiquette issues. In a recent pot, they took to the arena once again, this time with Benson completing and Katz making it two bets. Benson called.

"Here we go again," Benson said. "Yep, here we go," he said upon seeing his fourth street card.

Benson called bets from Katz on every street all the way down to seventh where both players checked. Katz turned over {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for a pair of queens and that was good to take down the pot.

Benson said something after the hand about having a big draw and missing everything, but Katz just nodded and raked in the pot.
