Weisner Folds to a River Bet

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The action was folded to the small blind who raised to 2,000 and Melanie Weisner defended her big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Spades} and the small blind led out for 5,000. Weisner called and the {q-Spades} came on the turn.

Both players checked to the [8d on the river. The small blind fired again, this time for 12,000 and Weisner thought for a couple moments before releasing her hand to the muck.

Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

The blinds were heads up with about 20,000 chips in the pot on a completed board reading {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, and Faraz Jaka was in the small. He checked and his opponent checked behind. Jaka tabled {J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for top pair with no kicker and it was good enough to win the pot.

Hunichen Busts Floyd

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

The board was all but rushed away and Brooks Floyd left the table while Chris Hunichen's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} were still tabled as he raked in the pot. According to Hunichen, he raised to 1,800 and Floyd moved all in for 15,200. William Conway called the all in of Floyd, but folded {A-}{Q-} to the isolation shove of Hunichen.

The board came {Q-}{10-}{4-}{Q-}{A-} and Floyd was sent to the rail. "Ace-king is the worst hand I shove there," Hunichen said in table chat to Conway.

Simao Applies the Pressure

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

With the board reading {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts} and around 25,000 in the middle, the cutoff led out for 8,000. Joao Simao was on the button and raised to 16,200, just over the minimum. His opponent called and the {10-Spades} was dealt on the river.

Simao's opponent checked and he bet 37,000, putting his opponent's tournament life at risk should he call. His opponent was left with just 28,200 and needed to make a decision. He scratched his head and played with his chips for over three minutes. He finally looked toward Simao and asked a question, but Simao sat with his headphones on and gave no reply. The cards were finally pushed away and Simao raked in the pot.

Hermiz Eliminated by Marshall

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Austin Hermiz found himself all in against Sean Marshall.

Marshall: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Hermiz: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

In a classic flip situation, Hermiz would calls heads but it would land tails as the dealer dropped a board of {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts} to see Hermiz eliminated and Marshall move to 100,000 in chips.

Hunichen Folds to a Turn Shove

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

With about 16,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}, Chris Hunichen was in the small blind and heads-up against a player in middle position who moved all in for 22,700. Hunichen went into the tank for several minutes, counting out calling chips and then counting down the remainder of his stack.

"Why so much, man?" asked Hunichen as he shook his head.

Ultimately, Hunichen folded {K-Clubs}{Q-} face up and his opponent took the pot.

"Show me one? I showed you two!" said Hunichen with a smile, but his opponent tossed his cards into the muck face down. "Nice hand. Next time I'll call you. You'd better have it next time."
