Ruane Takes From Mandavia

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Ruane
Michael Ruane

With a sizeable pot brewing on the turn of a {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board, Michael Ruane bet 250,000 and Ankush Mandavia check-called.

The {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Mandavia took over, firing a bet of 650,000. Ruane cut down his stack and contemplated his decision.

After a moment, Ruane made the call and Mandavia nodded in defeat. Ruane tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a flopped set and Mandavia mucked.

Ghaneian Takes a Hit

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

It started rather innocent with a raise to 65,000 by Arash Ghaneian and ended with the shove of Kevin Calenzo out of the small blind for more than 1.3 million. Ghaneian looked him up and tapped the table once the cards were turned over. "No matter how it ends, nice hand," Ghaneian added.

Calenzo: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Ghaneian: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

After the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, Calenzo put a deadlock on the hand, and the {4-Hearts} turn made his double-up official. "Pay the man his money," Ghaneian said before the {3-Diamonds} river completed the board. Calenzo's all-in was for 1,372,000, and that cut Ghaneian's stack in more than half.

Rahul Byrraju raised to 60,000 and Mickey Craft three-bet to 125,000 from the hijack. Byrraju called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Byrraju check-called a bet of 226,000 from Craft.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Byrraju checked again.

"You're going to have to use that rack of reds to call this," said Craft, indicating to the rack of one hundred T$5,000 chips behind Byrraju's stack awaiting color up. He bet 500,000.

Byrraju thought before announcing all in for 659,000. Despite the bet being only 159,000 more, Craft eventually folded.

"Show the flush draw," said someone at the table, and Byrraju flashed the {k-Clubs} before taking down the pot.
