In a massive three-way all in pre-flop Tai Nguyen had the two other players covered.
Tai Nguyen:
Dube:
Other opponent:
The flop was and Dube took the lead in the hand. The turn was the giving Nguyen the flush draw and the river hit it when the was turned over, shipping a massive pot that looked to be about 50,000 over to Nguyen. In an angry emotional out burst, the player named Dube came back over to berate nguyen for pushing all in with jacks. He direct some profanities at Nguyen and was asked by the tournament director to leave the area. He eventually did so while throwing bottles and yelling some more profanities. Nguyen in a show of class, didn't react to him at all and allowed the situation to defuse itself. Nguyen appears to be the chipleader at the moment.
A player in middle position moved all in for her remaining 6,350. A player on the button called and Ted Gillis, in the big blind, re-raised all in for 21,900. The button tanked for several minutes and eventually folded. Gillis showed and the all in players tabled .
The board ran out and Gillis improved to a full house, taking down a very nice pot.
A player in early position moved all in for his final 6,050, and action folded to Dan Heimiller in the small blind. He thought it over for a couple of minutes before he announced a re-raise to 15,000. The big blind quickly folded, and Heimiller saw he was in trouble.
Heimiller:
Opponent:
Heimiller's fortunes quickly turned when the flop came down . The on the turn gave his opponent a handful of new outs, but the on the river wasn't one of them.
Heimiller scooped the pot, while his opponent could only bemoan his bad luck as he hit the rail.
With about 13,000 in the pot action and the board reading , action was on Christopher Soyza under the gun, and he checked. A player in the cutoff bet 6,000, and Soyza asked what he had behind before moving all in for roughly 30,000, having the opponent covered. After a couple of minutes thinking, the cutoff folded, and Soyza showed the semi-bluff, flipping over .
With about 8,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading , recent bracelet winner James Calderaro bet 5,500, and a player in middle position moved all in for approximately 40,000. Calderaro went into the tank briefly and ultimately called with a slightly smaller stack.
Calderaro:
Opponent:
Calderaro's opponent had the advantage with two pair, but Calderaro could catch up on the river if his flush draw came in. The river was no help to Calderaro, though, and he was eliminated.
Kevin Martin was in early position and moved in for his remaining 7,225. Ilya fisher was on the button and called.
Ilya Fisher:
Kevin Martin:
The flop was very hopeful for Martin, as it came . The turn changed nothing when the was flipped over, and Martin needed to connect on the river if he was to stick around. The filled out the board, though, spelling the end for the popular Canadian star of Twitch and reality television.
Martin has been spreading the love around the Rio with a big shoutout to his buddy K.L., which you can find out about by clicking on this link.
Fisher has a very workable stack now and looks to continue his run throughout the rest of the night.
