Neng Lee Bags the Flight 1B Chip Lead; David Bach Eyes Third Bracelet of the Summer

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Neng Lee (1B Chip Leader)
Neng Lee (1B Chip Leader)

The second of three starting flights in the Little One for One Drop saw a grand total of 1,220 entries, and Neng Lee was in the pole position of the 197 who bagged chips with 214,700. Hot on his heels is Chunlei Yuan, who scored quite an entertaining knockout of Jesse Yaginuma earlier in the day. He bagged up 201,400, and is the only other player over the 200,000 marker.

Joining those two in the bagging process tonight are three players who are looking for another bracelet this summer. David Bach bagged up 78,700 in his quest for the rare triple bracelet in the same year. Upeshka De Silva (91,400) and Ben Yu (83,800) are also looking to pick up another piece of hardware to end the summer.

Other notables who will be coming back on Friday are Paul Volpe (138,200), Dan Heimiller (127,300), Daniel Strelitz (77,200), and Jeff Gross (18,200).

Of course, not everyone was as fortunate as the above mentioned players. Some of the many players who came and went today were Allen Kessler, Maurice Hawkins, Martin Jacobson, James Calderaro, William Kassouf, John Racener, Calvin Anderson, Chris Klodnicki and Kelly Minkin.

All of these players will have one more chance to qualify in Thursday's Flight 1C, which will likely be the biggest one of the event. With unlimited re-entries available, the chips will be flying, as players are hoping to end the summer with a bang. The action will be starting up at 3 p.m., so be sure to come back here for all of your updates!

Volpe Drags Another Pot

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Paul Volpe jumped into this event in the middle of the day, and he has seen his chip stack steadily rise ever since he sat down. In a recent pot, Volpe was heads up on a flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Volpe fired out 2,700, his opponent called, and both players checked the {K-Diamonds}.

The river brought the {8-Hearts}, and Volpe considered his options for just a few moments before betting out 5,300. His opponent called, but was forced to muck when Volpe tabled {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for two pair.

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
David Bach
David Bach

David Bach raised to 2,300 from early position, the next player to act called, the hijack called, and the button shoved for what looked like 9,200. Bach moved a huge stack forward to four-bet, the two callers got out of the way, and Bach and the button tabled their hands.

Bach: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Button: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Bach had a commanding lead with his jacks and his opponent needed help from the deck to preserve his tournament life. The board ran out {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Bach took the pot to send his opponent to the rail.
