Kabrhel Gets Away with Another One

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel opened to 2,400 from early position and was called by the big blind. The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs} and the big blind checked to Kabrhel who continued for 2,500. His opponent made the call and the {6-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Both players checked to the {7-Spades} on the river and the big blind led out for 2,600. Kabrhel moved forward stacks of chips for a raise to 24,000. His opponent tanked for a couple minutes before mucking his cards.

"Did you fold a jack?" Kabrhel asked and his opponent nodded. "I never bluff. Never ever bluff." Kabrhel rolled over the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a missed straight draw and he got away with another big bluff.

Tal Cohen
Tal Cohen

With 20,000 in the middle and the board reading {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Tal Shemon Cohen bet 8,000 and Rainer Ziermann min-raised to 16,000. Cohen shoved for 24,200 and Ziermann eventually called it off with {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for top pair. Cohen had {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} for aces and the river was a blank.

Paul Michaelis also scored a double. Down to 15,800 he got it in with {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} against the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} of Arsenii Karmatckii and got there thanks to a board of {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

Foxen and Ferguson Eliminated

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Joining the action on the {J-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs} turn, the stacks of Alexandre Viard in the big blind and Alex Foxen on the button went into the middle of the table. There were some 20,000 in the middle and Viard was the player at risk for 45,800.

Alexandre Viard: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}
Alex Foxen: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The {Q-Spades} on the river improved Viard to a flush and Foxen was left with fewer than one big blind.

In the next hand, David Urban shoved for 9,800 and Foxen called all in for 600 from the cutoff. Urban showed {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Foxen had two live cards with {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}, the board came {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. While Foxen was eliminated, Chris Ferguson shared the same fate on a different table, ensuring that neither of them would add points in the Player of the Year race in event #1 in Rozvadov.

Assorted Chip Counts

Niveau 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The last three levels of the night have kicked off and some 117 players are still in contention. It remains unlikely that action will have to stop earlier with the top 46 as margin for Day 1c, thus the full 14 levels are the current scenario.

Michaelis checked again and Vornicu bet 6,500. Michaelis made the call and the {a-Hearts} landed on the river. Michaelis checked for the third time and Vornicu made another bet of 12,500. Michaelis paid him off and Vornicu turned over {a-Spades}{3-Spades} for a full house.

"Was that a misclick preflop?" Vornicu asked of Michaelis.

Kabrhel's Rollercoaster of a Day Ends in Tragedy

Niveau 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Konstantinos Tsirakidis
Konstantinos Tsirakidis

The flop read {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Martin Kabrhel checked to his opponent who fired a bet of 6,400 into a pot of around 8,000. Kabrhel check-raised to 13,000 and his opponent pushed all-in. Kabrhel snapped him off and tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a set. His opponent was drawing to a chop with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the river brought the {5-Clubs} to earn Kabrhel a double up to over 80,000 chips.

A few hands later, Kabrhel was involved in a three-way pot with Konstantinos Tsirakidis and one other player that was all-in for around 15,000. The flop came {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and the action was checked to Kabrhel who bet 14,000 on the button. Tsirakidis check-raised to 33,000 and Kabrhel shipped all-in. Tsirakidis instantly called and tabled {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Kabrhel showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and the all-in player held {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and the river brought the {5-Spades}. Tsirakidis doubled up through Kabrhel leaving him with just 12,000 chips.

Soon after, Kabrhel got the remaining chips in from the cutoff with the {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Kai Gimre in the big blind called with {A-Spades}{5-Spades}. The board ran out {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts} and ace-high was good enough to drag in the pot and eliminate Kabrhel.
