Boatman Faces Bigger Boat

Niveau 4 : 100/200, 0 ante
Barny Boatman
Barny Boatman

The board read {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Barny Boatman, the defending champion, had already bet 2,700 from the big blind in a sizable pot. The player on the button shoved all in to give Boatman a decision to make. He considered his options for a bit, tried to figure out what his opponent could have and then eventually called.

Button: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Barny Boatman: {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Spades}

Boatman's opponent had a bigger boat and the Brit was off to the cashier's desk to reenter.

Hand #1:
The player in mid-position raised to 500 and action folded to the player in the small blind who called. Jan Peter Jachtmann, in the big blind, also called. The flop came {Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} on which they all checked, the turn brought the {J-Hearts}, the small blind check-folded to the 800 bet of Jachtmann. The other player however called. The {2-Spades} on the river completed the board on which Jachtmann now check-folded to the 1,300 bet of his opponent.

Hand #2:
The player in the hijack raised to 400 and was called by the cutoff, Jachtmann and the big blind. The flop came {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, Jachtmann checked as did the players in the big blind and hijack. The cutoff, however, bet 500, but Jachtmann then decided to raise to 1,500 which prompted the other players including the initial bettor to fold.

Hand #3:
Jachtmann limped in the cutoff and was joined by the button, small blind and big blind. The flop came {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The small blind bet 450 and the big blind folded. Jachtmann then raised to 2,000 and took down the pot.

Welcome to Day 1b of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha

WSOPE Omaha Bracelet
WSOPE Omaha Bracelet

The second starting day of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha will start at 2 p.m. local time here at the King’s Casino where the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe is being held. On Day 1a yesterday, there were 217 entries in total of which 33 players would be in the money and 13 of those players have advanced to Day 2. In 2015 this event had 503 entries so Day 1b needs to gather at least another 287 buy-ins to better that result.

The defending champion from the event in 2015, Barny Boatman, managed to cash yesterday but did not make it through to Day 2 so he will be back today to give it another shot. Ryan Hughes, John Racener, Chris Ferguson and Alex Foxen are all still in the running for the top spot in the 2017 WSOP Player of the Year so they will be back too. Other notables to be on the lookout for today are Phil Hellmuth, Felipe Ramos, Mike Leah, Pierre Neuville, Kristen Bicknell and Kenny Hallaert.

The players will play 18 levels of 30 minutes and the players will be in the money again today. They will be starting with 10,000 chips with registration open for the first eight levels and the 60-minute dinner break that follows. Unlimited reentries are allowed during that registration period.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to update you with all the action from the floor from start till end.
