Event #9: €25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller

Moving Up, The €25,000 High Roller Kicks Off at 3

Now that the opening flights of the Colossus are through, and the WSOP Europe Main Event is around the corner, the bigger buy-in tournaments are taking center stage. Event #9:€25,000 No-Limit High Roller starts at 3 p.m. local time.

The players could use this as a warm-up for the €111,111 One Drop coming up later this week or just an opportunity to test their skills against some of the best competition at King's Casino. Kenny Hallaert, who has been crushing large field No-Limit Hold'em tournaments for the last two years said earlier this week that he would be entering the High Roller, making it the largest buy-in tournament he has played. Hallaert did bag Day 2 of the Colossus, so there is a chance he might have to wait a little longer to enter the highest buy-in tournament of his career.

Predicting who will show up isn't too easy, but if you can trust twitter there will likely be a few of the talented German pros showing up for the latter half of the WSOPE schedule.

The players will start with 500,000 chips and play 12 levels before bagging for Day 2. The levels are 40 minutes long with a dinner break coming after level six. Players can also buy directly into Day 2, so it is likely the field will gain some familiar faces tomorrow when the High Roller restarts.

PokerNews will have live updates for this and all the other events happening at WSOPE at King's Casino.

Nitsche Check-Raises Neuville

Niveau 1 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

We found Dominik Nitsche in early position with 65,000 in front of him on a {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop. Pierre Neuville had bet 14,000 on the button and was pondering the check-raise. After about a minute, he looked at his cards and said something to Nitsche before pitching them into the muck.

Farrell Wins One, Maya Busts One

Niveau 1 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Ben Maya doubled his stack during the first level after knocking out the only player to be eliminated so far.

Meanwhile, the tournament continues to fill up with well-known pros.

Niall Farrell was one of the players to start the tournament and has added a little to his stack.

He raised from early position to 5,000 and got one caller from the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Farrell c-bet for 4,000. Both players checked the {9-Diamonds} on the turn and Farrell bet again when the {9-Clubs} paired the board on the river.

His opponent mucked and Farrell won the hand.
