On Saturday, November 4th, the long-awaited Event #11: €10,350 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event kicks off, the final bracelet event of 2017. The first start starting flight will get underway at noon local time with players from all over the world coming together at the King’s Casino to take a shot at winning a highly coveted title and the subsequent gold WSOP bracelet.

This is the ninth time the WSOPE has been held, with the first series of events taking place in 2007 at the Casino at the Empire in London. Annette Obrestad became the first ever WSOPE Main Event winner at the tender age of only 18. After this inaugural event, the poker world visited London three more times for the WSOPE. France hosted the next three events, with two of them in Cannes and one in Paris. After a year hiatus, the WSOPE traveled to Berlin, with Kevin MacPhee winning the last WSOPE Main Event bracelet for €883,000.

Keuftedjian Wins a Big One

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

David Keuftedjian was on the button and in a raising war when we got to his table, with the big blind having put out 1,350. Keuftedjian made it 6,450 to go and his opponent called, bringing a {2-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Spades} flop. The big blind checked and Keuftedjian bet 15,000, leaving just a little more than that back.

"You show if I fold?" his opponent asked after a couple of minutes in the tank. "Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Beginning of the tournament."

After another few minutes, the big blind folded {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} face up and Keuftedjian dragged the pot without showing.

Tomas Kubaliak raised to 400 from the under-the-gun position and action folded to Barny Boatman in the big blind. Boatman three-bet to 650 and Kubaliak called,

The flop came {10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Boatman bet 500 and Kubaliak called.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs}, Boatman continued betting 1,500 but now Kubaliak raised to 4,800. Boatman looked at the board again and then called.

The {2-Clubs} on the river completed the board with the {2-Clubs}, Boatman now checked. Kubaliak bet 12,500 and Boatman called. Kubaliak showed {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} for a missed straight draw. Boatman showed {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for an overpair which was more than good enough to take down the pot.

Duthie Bet-Folds the River

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

John Duthie overbet the pot slightly with 5,000 into about 4,000 from the button on a completed board of {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Aleksandr Tiufiakhin thought awhile and then splashed in a check-raise to 13,000 from the small blind, having double-checked his cards a few times. Duthie folded after about 30 seconds.
