Rus Eliminated by Segal

Niveau 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Adrian Rus
Adrian Rus

Adrian Rus had nursed a short stack for quite some time and eventually got it in with the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Tamir Segal called with {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and flopped best on {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, the {J-Spades} turn and {6-Clubs} river were blanks.

Anson Tsang followed to the rail moments later to reduce the field further.

Kessler Busts to a Straight Flush Missclick Call

Niveau 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Philipp Zukernik opened the action with a raise to 10,000 and Allen Kessler pushed all in for just over 60,000. Michael Braeutigam in the big blind tossed in the extra 5,000 to call the raise of Zukernik and was then made aware that Kessler had gone all in. As a result, the German had to call off the all in of Kessler.

Zukernik was somewhat confused, glanced at Braeutigam’s stack, counted his own stack and folded to see Kessler and Braeutigam in the following showdown.

Allen Kessler: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Michael Braeutigam: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

"I can't win this one," Kessler said and stood up from his chair, which fell over. The {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop gave Braeutigam a straight and flush draw, which he spiked on the {4-Hearts} turn. Kessler had outs for the full house and superior flush, but the {5-Hearts} river further improved Braeutigam to a straight flush.

Bednar Wins a Big Pot Off Kabrhel

Niveau 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

While 17 of the 19 remaining players were already in their final 15-minute break of the day, Jan Bednar and Martin Kabrhel clashed in a big pot. Until the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{K-Hearts} river a pot of 175,000 emerged and Kabrhel checked. Bednar bet 55,000 and Kabrhel was deep in the think tank.

The break had started some 10 minutes ago and Kabrhel eventually called, Bednar showed {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for the full house and won the pot. Bednar is very close behind Flavio Decataldo, who appears to be the current chip leader.

Gompers Eliminated by Denishev

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jan Gompers
Jan Gompers

Jan Gompers raised to 14,000 and Philippe Bouhnik called in the cutoff. Aleksandar Denishev from Bulgaria moved all in and had both Gompers and Bouhnik covered. Gompers gave it a lot of thought and the clock was called on him, he then called for the last 100,000 and that forced out Bouhnik.

Jan Gompers: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Aleksandar Denishev: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Denishev flopped top pair on {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}, but Gompers had outs with the flush draw. Neither the {7-Hearts} turn nor the {2-Diamonds} river brought any help and Gompers was gone in 19th place. All remaining 18 players will redraw to the last two tables on Day 1D.

Bednar Busts Lakatosh; Reaches Half a Million

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Mykola Lakatosh was all in for around 15 big blinds and big stack Jan Bednar looked him up.

Mykola Lakatosh: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Jan Bednar: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The kicker advantage played a vital role in favor of Bednar on a board of {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} to eliminate Lakatosh in 18th place for €914.

Petru and Gutyi Depart

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Day 1D may very well stop before the end of level 18 as the current speed of eliminations has reduced the field to the last 15 hopefuls with more than half an hour to go until bagging and tagging.

Petru called the shove of Martin Kabrhel while in the big blind and tabled the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, while Kabrhel only held {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

The {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop gave Kabrhel a gutshot to a straight flush, he then turned the straight with the {4-Clubs} and the {6-Diamonds} river sealed the fate of Petru.

Gutyi got into a raising war with Aleksandar Denishev and was all in before the flop.

Mykhailo Gutyi: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Aleksandar Denishev: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

There was no help for Gutyi on the {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} board and he departed in 16th place for €914.

Buzan and Blasko Eliminated

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Marek Blasko
Marek Blasko

Flavio Decataldo made it 17,000 to go and a short-stacked Adrian Buzan pushed for what appeared to be 70,000 in the big blind, Decataldo called.

Adrian Buzan: {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Flavio Decataldo: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Buzan had to settle for a payday of €1,069.

Marek Blasko received the very same amount after he defended the big blind against Mick Heder and ended up all in after the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} turn.

Marek Blasko: {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Mick heder: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {7-Hearts} on the river improved Heder to a flush and Blasko tossed over his remaining chips to let them splash into the middle of the table before heading to the payout desk.

Braeutigam Runs Queens Into Kings

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In a battle of the Germans with pocket pairs, it was Michael Braeutigam that ended up as the player at risk.

Michael Braeutigam: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Oliver Heidel: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Both suits were covered as well, further reducing the hopes of Braeutigam, and he found no help on the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board to join the rail in 13th place for €1,069.
