Speranza Sends Mach to the Rail

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Jan Mach
Jan Mach

With the board reading {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, Jan Mach was in the small blind and bet a little over 5,000, which was called by Gianluca Speranza on the button.

Mach had about 10,000 left when the {8-Clubs} popped up on the river and he checked. After thinking for thirty seconds, Speranza shoved all in and Mach called after two minutes with the {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Speranza showed him the bad news with {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a set of deuces.

Mach, who had a deep run in this year's WSOP Main Event (40th - $189,165), will have to go for his single re-entry.

Value for Chen

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Pete Chen was on the button and bet 5,000 on a {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Clubs} board. Greg Hawes, one of the early frontrunners in Event #2, called and tapped the table in defeat when Chen revealed {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for top-top.

Big Names Popping Up

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The field has grown to 93 entries and the big names are starting to pop up. One of them is the inaugural COLOSSUS winner at the WSOP, Cord Garcia, who has jumped in during the second level of the day.

German high roller Manig Loeser, who has made three six-figure scores in the past three months, is gunning for a bracelet as well, as is four-time champ Jeff Madsen who's looking for his fifth title.

Vasilov Bluffs Against Duczak

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Aaron Duczak called a bet of 1,700 from Demis Vasilov. Vasilov proceeded to barrel off on a {9-Clubs} and {A-Clubs} rundown with bets of 3,200 and 10,500, but Duczak wasn't going anywhere and called off both bets without much trouble.

Vasilov instantly slid his hand face-down in the muck and Duczak did the same after.

Armino Sends One to the Rail

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Leonardo Armino was reminiscing about a bad beat he received in The COLOSSUS earlier ("got a set of nines all in against aces on the bubble, river ace"), but he just received some extra chips for a second shot at a WSOP bracelet by knocking out Daniele Ruocco early on.

Ruocco was down to around 15,000 when he had three-bet from the blinds and Armino had called in position. The flop was {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Armino called a 2,400 bet from Ruocco.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Ruocco snap-shoved, followed by a snap-call from Armino.

Daniele Ruocco: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Leonardo Armino: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}

The river was a {4-Hearts} to deliver Armino the knockout.
