Moshe Extends the Lead

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

At the end of the fourth level of the day, Asi Moshe was involved in a pot against Darko Stojanovic and the chipleader bet 110,000 on a {8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades} board. Stojanovic called after some thought but got shown the bad news by Moshe, who held {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for the nut straight.

Manig Loeser Eliminated in 15th Place (€3,726)

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

The action folded to Manig Loeser in the small blind and he ripped all in for around 110,000. Jakob Miegel looked down at his cards in the big blind and instantly made the call.

Jakob Miegel: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Manig Loeser: {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Loeser ran into a monster hand and would need a lot of help in order to survive. The flop came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Loeser was in trouble. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn spelled the end to Loeser's run as the {q-Hearts} on the river was insignificant. His chips went across the table to Miegel and Loeser headed to the payout desk.

Deeb Loses Two More

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Shortly after doubling up Darko Stojanovic, Shaun Deeb raised to 16,000 on the button, Asi Moshe three-bet to 68,000 in the small blind and Deeb called. The flop was {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Deeb folded to a 54,000 bet from Moshe.

In the subsequent hand, Deeb bet 12,000 on a {6-Spades}{A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} flop and Stojanovic called from the big blind. The {2-Hearts} turn went check-check. Stojanovic bet 55,000 on the {10-Spades} river and Deeb called. The Frenchman showed {J-Spades}{4-Spades} for a flush and Deeb mucked to drop to 260,000.

Moshe Takes the Lead, Stojanovic Doubles Up

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a flop of {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}, the action was checked to Asi Moshe who bet 16,000 from under the gun. Van Tiep Nguyen check-raised to 45,000 from the small blind and Moshe called.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and Nguyen led out for another 60,000. Moshe called and the {5-Spades} completed the board. Both players knuckled the table and Nguyen tabled {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Moshe held {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens and that was good enough to send him into the chip lead.

On the very next hand, Darko Stojanovic opened from the cutoff and Shaun Deeb stuck in a three-bet to 34,000 in the small blind. Stojanovic shipped all in for 187,000 and Deeb quickly called it off.

Stojanovic opened {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} which was dominating Deeb's {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Stojanovic held on for a full double up at the hands of Deeb.

Chipleaders Collide in Massive Pot

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Van Tiep Nguyen
Van Tiep Nguyen

Van Tiep Nguyen and Asi Moshe are the two chipleaders in the tournament and the two players collided head-on in a massive 2,000,000 chip pot. Nguyen opened to 18,000 only to have Moshe three-bet to 71,000. Nguyen tanked for over a minute before announcing a four-bet all in for over 1.1 million. Moshe mumbled to himself and then made the call for his stack of over 900,000.

Nguyen turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} while Moshe had the same hand with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. It looked certain that the pot would be chopped but the flop of {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} have Nguyen the only backdoor flush draw. The turn brought the {8-Spades} and Nguyen's flush draw was a real possibility now. Moshe needed to dodge a spade to stay alive and the river was the {10-Clubs}. It was a black card but the wrong suit for Nguyen as Moshe let out a big sigh of relief and the two players pulled back their chips.
