Chen Chips Up; Phua Six-Bet Jams

Niveau 6 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Paul Phua
Paul Phua

Orpen Kisacikoglu raised to 125,000 and James Chen called, as did Paul Phua in the big blind. On the {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, all three players checked. The {k-Clubs} turn was checked to Chen and he bet 200,000, which only Kisacikoglu called.

After the {q-Clubs} river, both players checked and Kisacikoglu tabled the {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}, which Chen had beat with the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

In the final hand before the dinner break, Adrian Mateos raised to 110,000 in the cutoff and Phua three-bet to 330,000 on the button. Out of the big blind, Timothy Adams squeezed to 730,000 and Mateos five-bet to 1.4 million. Phua used one time bank and moved all in.

Adams tank-folded and Mateos also sigh-folded.

"I had ace-king, just go for it," Phua said with a big grin on the face while Adams mentioned in table chat he folded pocket queens.

Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Kahle Burns raised it up to 125,000 on the button and Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 550,000 in the big blind. Burns called and the dealer spread the flop of {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Badziakouski led out for 400,000 and Burns called to see the {4-Clubs} on the turn.

Badziakouski checked this time and Burns splashed in a bet of 600,000. Badziakouski called and the {7-Clubs} completed the board. Badziakouski checked again and Burns shoved all in. Badziakouski instantly called off his stack of 2,250,000 and Burns showed {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush. Badziakouski, however, held {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a higher flush in order to double up.

Joining the action on the {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop with Timothy Adams in the cutoff and Alex Foxen on the button in action, the former checked and Foxen bet 105,000 to receive a call.

Alex Foxen: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Timothy Adams: {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Adams had a ton of outs but the {6-Diamonds} river was not among them to let Foxen double.

Mateos First Casualty of the Day

Niveau 5 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos had lost a big pot earlier to Paul Phua and both clashed again soon after returning to their seats. In a battle cutoff versus button, Mateos four-bet all in with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and was called by Phua with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

An ace appeared on the flop and turn, which sealed the fate of Mateos on the first bullet as he failed to catch any of the remaining two queens in the deck. He may however re-enter still in order to take another shot at the Super High Roller action.

Tang Wins Big Pot From Aldemir

Niveau 4 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Danny Tang
Danny Tang

A raise by Richard Yong resulted in a three-bet by Danny Tang and Koray Aldemir in the big blind four-bet to 850,000. Yong got out of the way while Tang called to create an already big pot to the {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Aldemir bet 390,000 and Tang came along to see the {j-Clubs} on the turn, which was checked through by both players.

After the {q-Clubs} river, Aldemir checked once more and Tang now bet 550,000. A reluctant call by Aldemir followed and Tang turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a set of jacks as the winning hand.

That pot propelled Tang up to more than two times the starting stack, cementing his status as the early chip leader of the event.

Chin Wei Lim opened to 75,000 from the cutoff and was called by Koray Aldemir on the button and Anatoly Filatov in the big blind. The flop fell {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Filatov checked to Lim who bet 125,000. Aldemir folded but Filatov check-raised to 300,000. Lim called and the {2-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Filatov checked again and Lim fired out another 335,000. Filatov just called this time and the {q-Clubs} completed the board. Filatov checked once more and Lim counted out a bet of 725,000. Filatov went into the tank, using up two of his time extensions before finally releasing his cards.

Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Over on the feature table, Timothy Adams raised to 70,000 with the {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} in the hijack and Mikita Badziakouski called with the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} in the big blind. Badziakouski check-raised the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop from 175,000 to 500,000 and Adams called to see the {2-Hearts} on the turn.

Badziakouski now checked and Adams fired a bet of 500,000 to receive a call, the {2-Clubs} river then paired the board and the flush draw. Badziakouski checked with around 3.9 million behind and Adams bet 4.6 million.

After using several time banks, Badziakouski sent the best hand into the muck.

Tang Bests Nitsche and Lim

Niveau 2 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Danny Tang
Danny Tang

Danny Tang has scooped two decent pots in a row to take chips off Dominik Nitsche and Chin Wei Lim.

In the first hand, Nitsche raised to 80,000 in the cutoff and Tang flat-called out of the small blind. Tang ended up check-calling three barrels on a {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board with the final bet worth 850,000. Nitsche briefly showed {9-Diamonds}{8-} for nines and treys, which Tang had beat with the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for tens and treys.

Right after, Tang raised the button to 60,000 and Lim three-bet to 250,000, Tang called. On a flop of {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, both players checked and Lim then check-called a bet worth 160,000 after the {a-Diamonds} turn. The {3-Spades} on the river completed the board and Lim checked once more.

Tang now bet 210,000 and Lim called, but mucked when he was shown the {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for flopped two pair by Tang.

Event #4: €250,000 Super High Roller Kicks Off Today at 3pm

King's Casino
King's Casino

With the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe now in full swing, it is time to welcome some of the best players from around the world to the King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The first and largest high roller of the series is set to begin with Event #4: €250,000 Super High Roller kicking off at 3 p.m. local time.

With an attractive schedule for many of the high-roller regulars over the course of the next three weeks, there is no doubt that many of them will be making an appearance at one point in time. Last year, in what was a €100,000 buy-in event, local King's poker-villain Martin Kabrhel captured his third gold bracelet along with over €2.6 million for first place.

There is likely to be another strong German contingent of players heading up the field with the casino located on the country's border. Some of the high-rollers already seen strolling throughout the area have included Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Koray Aldemir, Adrian Mateos, and Danny Tang.

The cards are scheduled to get in the air at approximately 3 p.m. but as with all high-rollers, there could be a slight delay in order for some of the tables to fill up. Each player will be given a starting stack of 5,000,000 chips with the blinds beginning at 10,000/20,000 and a 10,000 big blind ante. The levels will be 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level and a total of 10 levels on tap for Day 1.

There will be an unlimited number of re-entries available for those who see their chips diminish in the late registration period. Late registration will remain open until the start of Day 2 at approximately 2 p.m. On Day 2, they will play down to the final table with the WSOP gold bracelet being handed out on Day 3.

As always, the PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing you all of the action with chip counts, bust-outs, and marquee pots throughout the entire event.
