Chidwick Reenters in the Nick of Time

In one of the final hands of the previous level, Stephen Chidwick had gotten his last chips in against Ioannis Angelou-Konstas. When the action was caught, the board of 3♦8♥9♥A♦6♦ was dealt in completion, and Chidwick's A♣J♥ lost to the flush of Angelou-Konstas, who played Q♦10♦.

Chidwick was the last player to enter the €50,000 Diamond High Roller as the late registration closed at the start of Level 15, resulting in a total field of 37 player, of which 25 remain in contention.

Quan Zhou limped in from the button before Chris Brewer raised from the small blind. Zhou then three-bet jammed for 1,240,000 and Brewer made the call with the covering stack.

It was looking good for Zhou until the J♥7♦Q♠ flop came on the table. The 3♦ turn did nothing for either player and Zhou stood up, ready to leave, until the K♦ river completed the board.

Zhou rebinked top pair and demoted Brewer's hand to second pair. He quickly sat back down, now with double the chips.
