Rudolph Gets There on the Turn, Amsellem Spikes the River

Niveau 22 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Christian Rudolph
Christian Rudolph

Action folded to Christian Rudolph in the small blind who got his last 350,000 in the middle against Jacob Amsellem.

Christian Rudolph: A7
Jacob Amsellem: A10

Rudolph was dominated heading to the 35Q flop. But for the man who first popularized the phrase "it's always coming seven," it was no surprise that the 7 fell on the turn to give Rudolph the lead.

The river, though, was the 10 and Amsellem improved to a higher pair to send Rudolph to the rail.

Jalba Blazes Through Desset

Niveau 22 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Eusebiu Jalba
Eusebiu Jalba

Andrej Desset open-raised to 60,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Eusebiu Jalba, who defended. Jalba then check-called a 40,000 bet from Desset on the KAQ flop before both players checked the Q turn.

The Q river was then put on the felt and Jalba checked for a third time. Desset picked the betting back up by tossing 85,000 chips in the middle. Jalba responded by assembling 420,000 chips for a raise, and the action was back on Desset.

Desset weighed his options, clearly frustrated by the situation. Eventually, however, he folded, showing his J face-up.

Kassam Runs Into a Bigger Ace

Niveau 22 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Rehman Kassam
Rehman Kassam

Soon after the final five tables were formed and the pay jump was secured, the next all-in showdown unfolded.

It was Rehman Kassam who got it in for around 930,000 preflop only to find himself dominated by Kasparas Klezys.

Rehman Kassam: AQ
Kasparas Klezys: AK

The AK8 flop left the Brit on the ropes and the 7 turn sealed his fate, making the 2 river a formality.

Just prior, Christian Rudolph had raised to 85,000 and then folded when Anson Tsang three-bet to 415,000 with 10,000 behind in the big blind.

Lampropulos Calls Off Against Radicchi

Maria Lampropulos
Maria Lampropulos

The other players were already standing up from their seats and getting ready for this table to break as Andrea Radicchi and Maria Lampropulos were still involved in a pot that went to the river on a completed board of 8A459.

Radicchi, in the big blind, bet enough to put Lampropulos all in for her last 300,000. Lampropulos tanked for more than five minutes before calling and turning over A10 for top pair. Radicchi, though, showed Q8 for a flush to send her to the rail.

Amsellem Claims Salaj's Stack

Niveau 22 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The action folded to Miroslav Salaj on the button, and he went all in for his final 400,000 chips. Big Stack Jacob Amsellem made the call from the big blind, and the cards went on their backs.

Miroslav Salaj: 95
Jacob Amsellem: K10

Amsellem paired up on the 3107 flop, which meant that Salaj was down to just runner-runner outs. The 2 turn had him drawing dead, and his pair on the 9 river was meaningless.

He swiftly left the tournament area as the players converged onto five tables.

The Last Champ Falls as Mateos Runs Into Queens

Niveau 22 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Shortly after doubling up Jonathan Pastore, Adrian Mateos was faced with a three-bet of 150,000 from Timo Kamphues on the button and moved all in for 600,000 in early position. Kamphues called.

Adrian Mateos: AQ
Timo Kamphues: QQ

Kamphues had picked up queens to leave Mateos at serious risk of elimination. The 21043Q board didn't provide him any help as Kamphues spiked the last queen to make a set and send the 2013 champion to the rail.

Alex Keating
Alex Keating

Action folded to Ruslan Volkov in the small blind who raised to 65,000. Alex Keating called in the big blind and they went heads-up to the 677 flop.

Volkov checked to Keating who bet 100,000. Volkov called and the 7 fell on the turn.

Keating bet another 275,000 and Volkov again called. The river was the 6 and Volkov checked for a third time.

Keating then moved all in for 1,200,000 and Volkov took about 30 seconds before calling with 99 for a full house. "Oh, wow," Keating said as he revealed 84 and was playing the board. He gave Volkov a fist bump before making a quick walk to the exit.
