Day 2 of Event #3: €1,350 NLH Mini Main Event has come to an end here at the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov. Leading the charge is Artiom Poddubnii, who amassed 10,740,000 in chips by the time the dust settled.

Poddubnii busted several players en route to bagging the chip lead, including a hand where he cracked aces late in the day for a large pot. Poddubnii's best live cash came back in 2021 after winning the Grompoker Ukraine Poker Open Main Event for $20,000, but he now finds himself in pole position to make a serious run at the €300,000 first-place prize.

In total, the tournament generated a total of 1,729 entries across four starting flights. Of those, 461 returned for Day 2 to compete for the lion's share of the €2,000,000 prize pool. However, by the time play concluded, just 58 players remained.

With 260 players making the money, it didn't take long for the field to play down to the bubble, which resulted in a three-way preflop all in between aces, kings, and queens. David Taborsky was the unfortunate bubble boy after his queens failed to improve against Anthony Mahaut's aces as the short stack.

Defending WSOPE Main Event Champion Omar Eljach, who also won his second bracelet just a couple days ago in Event #2: €550 Pot Limit Omaha 8-Max, is among the chip leaders after bagging 6,575,000 and will be looking to improve upon his already stellar poker resume.

Among the less fortunate who busted before they could find a bag include Martin Kabrhel (219th - €1,880), Ran Kollerr (131st - €2,510), Peter Kamaras (114th - €2,715), Renji Mao (104th - €2,715), Oleksii Kovalchuk (91st - €2,975), and Jason Wheeler (81st - €3,305).

Goossens Doubles Twice at the End

Niveau 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Aleksej Grenz raised to 180,000 in early position before Alberto Cigliano three-bet to 500,000 in middle position. Guy Goossens called for his last 325,000 in the small blind, while Grenz folded.

Guy Goossens: 109
Alberto Cigliano: KK

Goossens had run into kings and was at risk of busting right at the end of the day, but he was saved by the 5JJA4 board making a flush to double up.

The next hand, Goossens shoved from the button for 700,000 as big blind Xhavit Berisha considered the decision. He eventually called.

Guy Goossens: A9
Xhavit Berisha: A2

Goossens was ahead this time and the 387QK board didn't have anything for Berisha as Goossens doubled for the second straight hand.

Three More Hands

Niveau 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

The tournament director has just announced that each table will be dealt three more hands until players bag and tag for the night.

Jalba Makes a Move on Mazza-Boussemart

Niveau 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Giuseppe Mazza-Boussemart raised to 210,000 under the gun before Eusebiu Jalba three-bet to 625,000 in the cutoff.

The blinds got out of the way and Mazza-Boussemart then four-bet to 1,200,000.

Jalba came back with an all-in shove and Mazza-Boussemart quickly mucked. Jalba slammed down KQ and Mazza-Boussemart flung his arms in the air in frustration.

"King-queen, really? On me? You see me make a move. I folded pocket tens," Mazza-Boussemart said.

Poddubnii Extends His Lead Before the End

Niveau 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Already chipleader with more than 10,000,000 chips, Artiom Poddubnii opened to 160,000 from middle position, and he was called by Evgheni Toporas in the cutoff.

Both players decided to check on the flop 695, and to check again on the turn A.

Finally, the 4 came on the river, and Poddubnii bet 285,000. Toporas thought about his decision for a few seconds, but eventually folded.

Berisha Doubles With Quads

Niveau 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Florian Kraft opened to 200,000 from the hijack and action folded to Xhavit Berisha in the small blind, who shoved approximately 1,000,000. Kraft called to put Berisha at risk and hands were revealed.

Xhavit Berisha: 1010
Florian Kraft: AQ

The J10Q flop gave Berisha a set, which improved to a full house on the J turn before improving further to quads on the 10 river for the double up.
