Mehamed Tries a Hero Call Against Goossens

Niveau 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Guy Goossens raised to 25,000 under the gun and Alan Mehamed three-bet to 80,000 in the hijack. The table folded back around to Goossens and he called.

The flop came 538 and Mehamed continued for 60,000. Goossens called and the 7 fell on the turn.

Mehamed then bet another 225,000 and Goossens, wearing his hood low over his head, called to the 4 river.

Goossens then moved all in for 386,000 and Mehamed tanked for a minute before calling. Goossens turned over 65 for the rivered straight and Mehamed mucked his cards before the dealer exposed his AK.

Reigning WSOP Europe champion Omar Eljach, already with a bracelet this year, has seen a slow start to his day.

Levan Rcheulishvili
Levan Rcheulishvili

Levan Rcheulishvili and Davide Brancale went to the river on a completed board of 6J963 when Rcheulishvili bet 52,0000 from early position.

Brancale then moved all in for around 700,000 in the big blind, sending Rcheulishvili deep into the tank. The clock was eventually called and Rcheulishvili allowed the countdown nearly to reach zero before he called.

Brancale then turned over 32 and Rcheulishvili slammed down A9 for nines and sixes as he got up from his seat and paced around the table. A few tablemates got up to give him a fist bump after that hero call that sent Brancale to the rail.

"Beautiful call," one of his tablemates said.
