Chen Adds Some More Chips

Niveau 6 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

James Chen raised to 9,000 from the hijack and Julien Sitbon made the call from the cutoff. The action then folded to Ole Schemion in the big blind, who put out a three-bet to 125,000 chips. Chen made the call before Sitbon got out of the way.

The 847 flop saw Schemion continue for a small bet of 18,000, after which Chen made a raise to 50,000 chips. Schemion made the call and the Q turn was dealt.

Schemion checked and Chen opted for a bet of 125,000, around half of Schemion's remaining chips. Schemion elected to fold his hand and Chen raked in another pot to add to his stack.

Niveau 6 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The action was three-ways to the 7510 flop, with Joakim Andersson checking in the big blind and Renat Bohdanov doing the same in the cutoff. Cedric Schwaederle slid out a bet of 8,500, with Andersson folding and Bohdanov making the call.

Bohdanov checked again on the 3 turn, with Schwaederle firing another bet of 33,000. The call was made to the 9 river.

One last check from Bohdanov saw Schwaederle bet again, this time for 80,000. Bohdanov mucked his hand, as Schwaederle raked in the pot.

At a nearby table, Aliaksandr Shylko is the latest player to join the field.

Vito Chip Leading After Eliminating Astedt

Niveau 6 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Enzo Vito
Enzo Vito

Enzo Vito was seen with a big stack of roughly 900,000, and Niklas Astedt's chair was left empty. Vito was kind enough to tell PokerNews that he eliminated Astedt after Vito flopped a full house on 1010x8 with his 8x8x.

Astedt was playing the nut flush draw with A5 but had to hit runner-runner full house instead to still win the pot. He failed to do so and was the first casualty of Day 1.

Guilbert Bounces Back

Niveau 5 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

James Chen raised to 7,000 from middle position and Arturo Paduano made the call from the cutoff. Johan Guilbert then squeezed in a three-bet to 28,000 from the button, which only Paduano called.

The 568 flop was checked by both players and the 3 turn was knuckled down as well. The 10 river then saw Paduano lead out for 38,000 and Guilbert made a swift call.

Paduano could only show A3 for bottom pair, while Guilbert played A10 for top pair. By winning this pot, Guilbert increased his stack to above what he started with after a tough start of the day.

Bogdanov Asks For It All

Niveau 5 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

An early raise and call was met by a three-bet from Yulian Bogdanov in the cutoff to 50,000. Sirzat Hissou then slid out a four-bet to 100,000.

Action folded back around to Bogdanov, who took some time before moving all in for another 400,000. Hissou went into the tank, ultimately deciding to fold to the first all in of the tournament as Bogdanov raked in the pot.

Arturo Paduano has joined the field, bringing the total to 44 entrants.

Suvarna Survives a Staredown

Niveau 5 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jonathan Pastore and Santhosh Survana had created a massive pot of 180,000 when they arrived on the river on 689104. Pastore then checked from the small blind before Suvarna fired 130,000 in the middle from the button.

Pastore took a good look at his opponent for several minutes, trying to get any information out of him in the meantime. Suvarna remained as stoic as ever, however, and Pastore eventually forfeited the pot by passing his cards to the dealer.

As this hand took place at the table where players show one card when they win, Suvarna showed the A before play continued.

Ben Heath
Ben Heath

Axel Hallay open-raised from the cutoff before facing a three-bet from Ben Heath in the big blind. Hallay made the call, and the two were battling over a pot of 60,000 chips.

The 10AJ flop was fanned out and Heath continued for 18,000 chips. Hallay pondered for a while before making the call, and the same sequence happened on the 6 turn, for an amount of 80,000 this time.

The 6 river completed the board and Heath completed his tripple barrel with a bet of 87,000. This time, Hallay let his hand go, and Heath raked in the pot without a showdown.

Guilbert's Straight Flush Gets Paid

Niveau 5 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

Johan Guilbert and Julien Sitbon were heads up on a board showing 910K and a bet of 3,500 sitting in front of Guilbert on the button.

Sitbon then check-raised to 35,000 and Guilbert took some time before making the call. The J turn followed and Sitbon led out for 30,000. Guilbert counted out his stack before making the call.

The 10 river saw Sitbon check. Guilbert announced a bet of 29,000, bringing a smile to Sitbon's face as he questioned the size of the bet. Sitbon thought for a moment before tossing in the call.

Guilbert tabled QQ for a straight flush, while Sitbon showed the A as the pot slid to his left.
